We stayed at Lampung Marriott resort in mid October for two nights for a birthday event and had an overall pleasant experience. The brand new resort was beautiful, the spacious lobby located on a higher ground has a majestic view of the beach, and of the lovely garden leading to the pools by the beach. We arrived at around 3:30 pm, Maisya was very courteous and helpful, she assisted us with check-ins and informed us that only two out of the three rooms we booked were ready. She apologized that we had to wait for the third room and it was almost another hour before the third room was finally ready. One of the three rooms had a welcome tray on the table with a handwritten note and beautifully arranged fruits and snacks. Mona the manager on duty stopped by to greet us warmly when we were checking in, she acknowledged our Bonvoy status and informed us of the complimentary photo session we could reserve to commemorate our stay. A staff was walking around the lobby area offering complimentary gelato in sample cups for refreshments, which we thought was delightful. All the bedrooms have decent space with bed(s), a sofa, a mini fridge and a mini patio with beautiful ocean views. Bathroom was spaciously modern and had both a tub and shower area. Complimentary pairs of flip-flops for the beach (instead of indoor slippers like in most other hotels) and a plastic shopping bag with Lampung Marriott printed on them were provided in each room, made for nice souvenirs. All the staff were very friendly and would go out of their way to accomodate any request or inquiry we might make. The hotel surprised us with a complimentary cake sent to our room with a birthday greeting, a thoughtful gesture which we appreciate. Breakfast and dinner at Hara were as expected for a five star level resort such as Marriott, the food and drink selections were abundance, from traditional local fares to international menu.. it was a treat to see some indian menu being offered at breakfast in addition to everything else. The staff happily prepared freshly cut dragonfruit and brought it to our table with such efficiency when we inquired whether the fruit was available. Sabreena, the general manager of the resort gracefully stopped by our table during breakfast and was so humble and kind, it was a pleasure to chat with her. There was a slight hiccup at checkout when my sister waited almost 40 mins in our room because front desk said they were sending an employee to bring up some refrigerated items that we asked the hotel to store for us, when in fact the items were already sent out to the waiting car along with the rest of our luggage. Better communication among the staff and between depts was needed. The front desk did apologize profusely for the miscommunication. There was a wild life sanctuary within walking distance of the resort, near the snorkelling spot, that housed different breeds of birds. It was an interesting place to visit, I just hope the sanctuary will not get overwhelmed with visitors and will still put the animals’ wellbeing as their priority as the resort gets more well known. The resort provided fish food at the snorkelling spot to entice fish to come closer so guests can have upclose encounter with the fish. Overall a very enjoyable stay and would not hesitate to stay here again on...

From the moment we arrived at the Marriott, we were welcomed by the security and concierge, with warmth and professionalism that set the tone for an unforgettable stay. Late review; based on my visit on Sep 2024. I was thrilled to visit this newly opened and the first 5 stars beach resort in Lampung which was just a short flight distance from Jakarta. I was also curious to discover the nature/beach in Lampung. The resort is located on the beachfront in a remote location, it took 30 mins drive from the city center. What I like with the resort: + The room was spacious, luxurious, super comfy. All rooms are facing the ocean. + The exterior and landscape are beautiful with many open space area. + The resort has private beach. + My check in process was assisted by Ms. Cesalia. She was super friendly and shown great hospitality. Her friendliness was at another level and very authentic. Among many 5 stars hotels that I have visited, I’d say she’s top notch! However there are some drawbacks especially from the service parts: - My room rate was different from what I booked. This is very tricky as I realised it a bit late after signing the registration form. I complained about it, and this is something that I wouldn’t imagine happening from a Marriott hotel that they had experience system glitch which caused my room rate has changed. I was wondering how many other guests had unintentionally paid higher room rate due to this system glitch. Although eventually they reverted back to my original room rate, but still I can’t believe this happened from Marriott. - A big disappointment to find that the beach was dirty. We really didn’t enjoy the beach. I thought with their remote location, I could expect a very clean beach. - Many outsiders came to the resort to take pictures and use the facilities. - To anticipate intruders, during my stay, the hotel just suddenly implemented new policy to give hand band for hotel guests as a pass to use facilities. However it wasn’t coordinated well among them, hence I didn’t get the hand band during my check in. As a result, not less than 3 staff approached us during our swimming time asking about our hand band, which we had to explained and argued repeatedly with them that we didn’t receive it during check in. With this room rate and Marriott brand, I would expect much better experience.

The marble details, layout of the hotel, and room reminded me of Kempinski Apurva, but on a smaller scale. Overall, everything was okay. The room was comfortable, but the lighting system only had a master switch, so we couldn’t turn on individual lights separately. The AC also worked inconsistently, sometimes it was adjustable, other times we couldn’t change the temperature at all. The hotel is supposed to be private and exclusive for guests, but unfortunately, during our stay, there was a public iftar event. This allowed non-staying guests to enter, making the area crowded and less private, which was quite disappointing. It’s a family friendly hotel with a decent range of kids’ facilities. However, I found it a bit unreasonable that the free breakfast for children only applies up to 2 years old. Older children are charged half price (around IDR 200,000+). Given the room rate, I think this policy isn’t very fair, especially since most hotels offer free breakfast for kids up to 10–12 years old. My child only ate cereal and fruit, so the extra charge didn’t feel worth it. I hope the hotel reconsiders the age policy for children’s breakfast. Service was good, room service was fast, and the staff were helpful. We stayed for two nights and received a complimentary family photo session with a photographer, which was a lovely bonus. There’s no lifeguard on duty at the beach or swimming area, so all water activities are at your own risk. The facilities are great. Just in front of the beach, there are baby blacktip sharks, and snorkeling equipment is available for rent. Canoes and paddleboards are also available for rent. However, the foot-washing tap by the beach wasn’t working. For kids, there’s a playroom fully stocked with toys, although no staff-led activities were running at the time. There’s a children’s pool with water features, a small bird-themed mini zoo, and if you’re lucky, you might spot deer on the beach (though we didn’t see any during our visit). The food at Way Manom Resto was nice. The staff were also very kind, they even lent my child some colored pencils to bring back to the room. We may come back again someday.
