I was eagerly anticipating a stay here based on the amenities described: free wifi, breakfast, free airport transport. However, they never confirmed the airport transport. Even though the exterior of the hotel looked good on web images, it was not new at all. The room we had did have free wifi provided you could put your computer in the correct part of the room. But that was intermittent and for the most part we rarely had any internet for the 3 nights we were there. The room was musty, old, needed a major rework. The bathroom was barely functioning. Both room and bathroom lights were weak and any rooms facing the street were noisy all day and all night. The phone did not work, nor did the TV. In fact the chords were not even functional. Beds were uncomfortable and the sheets did not seem to be very clean. Breakfast was minimal and in a dimly lit area. When we could see the plates and silverware, they did not appear to have been thoroughly wased from the night before. The staff did not speak any English and if it were not for Iraqi colleagues who picked us up daily, we would not have been able to resolve any problems. There was no pool, no fitness center, no frig, no microwave or coffee/tea making facilities. There are better hotels in Irbil but they were more than...
Read moreThe International Hotel in Erbil is an absolute standout in every aspect! From the moment you step foot into the lobby, you're greeted with warmth and hospitality that sets the tone for a great stay. The hotel's traditional and maybe outdated design and luxurious amenities create an atmosphere of sophistication and comfort that's hard to match.
One of the highlights of staying at the International Hotel is its breathtaking view of the Citadel. Waking up to the panoramic vista of this ancient marvel is a truly awe-inspiring experience. The juxtaposition of Erbil's rich history with the modern comforts of the hotel creates a sense of timelessness that's both captivating and memorable.
Beyond its stunning surroundings, the International Hotel excels in hospitality. The rooms are spacious, beautifully appointed, and equipped with all the amenities one could desire. The attentive staff go above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels welcomed and pampered throughout their stay.
Whether you're visiting Erbil for business or leisure, the International Hotel is the perfect choice for accommodation. Its prime location, luxurious accommodations, and impeccable service make it a top destination for traveler's seeking an exceptional experience. I can't recommend this hotel...
Read moreI was on vacation with my family in mid-July 2025. We had a suite (no. 520) unfortunately we had some experiences at the hotel that were not 5 star logic at all. ||1) refusal from the chef to make an omelette because the kitchen closes the buffet within 10 minutes. ||2) for several days we have been requesting a dessert for my daughter that is on their menu. but is not available. ||3) my wife had to wait over an hour for a simple lentil soup. ||4) our suite was not cleaned for 2 days, in the end we had to call the reception to have the room cleaned (even though we have pressed the cleaning button and informed housekeeping to clean the suite) This resulted in me and my family had to wait 30-40 minutes late at night for our suite to be cleaned. The next day the cleaning staff forgets to take away dirty cutlery and cups and refill the bathroom with cleaning products. ||5) my little daughter of 1.5 years had to wait almost 1 hour to get warm milk before bedtime. ||6) I have been asking to talk to the management for 2 days about my experience but the only answer I have received from the staff is that they are sorry that I had a bad experience and that they will move on with it. But otherwise their valet staff and security staff are...
