When we arrived we checked in staff lovely and friendly all going well. When we were in the room we realised the TV wasn't working we called reception and waited about 20 minutes before calling again as no one arrived at our room. After about 5 minutes after the second call we got a call and they told us to move to the room next door we checked the TV which also wasn't working so we moved again to a room which the TV also wasn't working. So someone came to the room and spend about 30 minutes checking the tvs before realising there was a problem with the dish. So we were moved downstairs to a room which was regarded as superior to the previous rooms. The room was decent but smaller than the first room. The first room was the best out of all 4 rooms it had a huge shower while the So called superior room had a bath with a shower. When we looked out the window we could see a wall infront of us which I thought was annoying. The beds were fairly comfortable and the room in general was comfortable. The first day tho no room service came to service the room which I though was very bad form. The food was middle of the road I ordered pancakes of the menu 4 of the mornings and noticed the quality was incontinent as 2 days they were to flowery while the 2 other days they were absolutely gorgeous. Half the crossoints were fresh and the other half were old. The bacon was left there for 2 days I recon as it was quite hard. Room keys stopped working neumourus times and had to get them fixed. One time I spotted 2 staff members running after each other which was so unprofessional and I also spotted one sitting on the ground in a small side room of reception. The days room service came they came at about 5pm which was late. One of the days a shutter came down outside our window for about 20 minutes which was very random and made me feel like it was a prison. On the first night there was guests running down the corridor making noise at one stage. Great Bus service from outside the hotel witu Buses to and from Limerick city and Ennis. Overall I thought it was fairly poor considering it was relatively expensive compared to other hotels I have stayed in. Would possibly stay in the future if...
Read moreI am from shannon originally and have often socialised in the bar and been to functions in the bar, I am now living in county limerick so my partner and I booked a room for St Stephen's day as we were going out in shannon for the night. Upon arrival all seemed good fast check in and room was nicely allocated, when we got to the room my partner found it was very cold, the heating took 1.5 hours at least to heat the room. We went for dinner in the restaurant with 4 friends and the food was beautiful and serving staff very kind and attentive. We spent the night in another bar not far from the hotel and arrived back in the hotel bar at approx 1AM where there was a crowd of people, I proceeded to the bar for a drink for my partner and myself where I was asked for proof I was a resident which i provided waited 10 minutes for drinks which was fine my partner then went to bed and I stayed for a drink with some friends I then received a phone call from my distressed partner telling me she had rang reception for sandwich which the menu in the room had stated was a 24hr service to which she was given a very short and snappy response "the kitchen is closed" she then told the receptionist that the menu stated 24hr and was again given the very same response to which she she said ok and hung up. I then went to the bar for one more drink before bed to which i was greeted by John Galvin the owner pointing at me saying "You Out" I then told him I was a resident to which he questioned so I produced my room key he then asked what room number I told him and then he asked what name was it booked under to which I replied in great embarrassment as there was a packed bar I felt very embarrassed walking away from the bar and my overall experience was very poor would...
Read moreWorst Place I’ve ever Stayed. Not at all the way it is advertised but I could of likely got by if it wasn’t for the black haired manager who worked in the bar whose behaviour was honestly uncalled for.She made us feel so uncomfortable the first night that we ended up actually leaving after one drink and avoiding getting food or drink in the hotel for the rest of our stay.I got told to not sit where I was and questioned if I am even staying there.A drink for my partner and I took over an hour to receive as we watched her just saunter across the floor and completely disregard us. The lock for our room was completely broken, could not be locked and when we brought this to light we got told at 3pm that it was too late to fix and you’ll be grand just to leave it open. We had no option but to leave our belongings just free to whoever wanted to come in and were not even offered an alternative. The hygiene is definitely one that’s easily forgotten about by those working there as we had a leftover toilet roll just hanging off and dusty soap left on our sink.I actually found Pubic hair on the counter beside our sink. There is a clear window in the hall where you can see a hot counter and the food is just sitting there in containers with no lids on it.Our bedroom has seats that were covered in recent food stains, a dirty bath tub and overall smell was just unbearable. They also failed to mention that the place is under construction at the moment so no need to worry about an alarm because there’s drilling and hammering first thing every morning.Typically I would try get past a flaw or two but the standard of this hotel is just...
