The hotels I usually stay at in Abano were closed for the summer, so I chose this one for a 2 week stay based on his high Trip Advisor ranking and reasonable prices. I don't regret it at all. ||It has all I expected and I was used to for a "Hotel Terme" (aka "Spa") in the area: access to in- house mud treatment, massage, inhalations, water physiotherapy, pools etc, together with a complete meal plan and pleasant rooms. Although of no interest to me I should mention that this hotel as most other Terme, has extended its appeal by including all kinds of cosmetic treatments and fancy exotic massages.||Food is served at fixed times (e.g. lunch at 12:30) and has a first dish, entree and fruit or ice-cream. There are generally 3-4 entrees one should choose from the evening before. Sometimes there is an appetizer or a fancier dessert and two days a week there is a single special entree they feature with some pageantry. Food is good and various enough but of course for the price you should not expect to find filet mignon or lobster among the choices. Service is good, but perhaps a bit slow: the same waiters who bring the carts with the food then clean tables, etc - a lunch or a dinner lasts at least an hour. A bit peculiar (I have not seen it in other hotels here) is that left-overs of appetizers or side dishes are often served again next day as an option in the salad buffet. One night a week drinks and appetizers before dinner, another night dancing after dinner, but overall fairly casual.||||There is a bar open for part of the day and prices are ridiculously low for a hotel and choice is adequate. ||||Service is invariably friendly and efficient. WI-FI was free and excellent.||||Warm water pools with a couple of shallow areas with whirlpools which activate at fixed intervals. Turkish bath, sauna, mini Kneipp, and I could quibble that the sauna was not hot enough for my taste and the shower was not cold enough, but these are minor issues.||||However don't forget this is a 3 star hotel and don't expect large rooms, beautiful furniture or a large lobby/multiple saloons, nor a park where to take a stroll. And prices are...
Read moreWe travelled for a couples break on Friday 31 August to attend a friend's wedding. The journey from Venice Treviso airport was horrendous, the town's main station is a good 5km from the hotel and involved many train issues (particularly with ticketing and faulty doors. We eventually arrived at the hotel at 2am, where check-in was swift and easy.||||Breakfast the next morning was sparse - only cereals, toast and bread, tasteless juice and questionable coffee. Not the finest of selections on offer.||||Room service would knock often - the usual "Do Not Disturb" leaflet was hidden in a folder at the bottom of a drawer, that your attention was not drawn towards. We found this the day before we left - perhaps a more helpful place would be the inside of the entrance door?||||Having said that, the service, particularly from Roberta, was excellent, both before and during the stay. She was clear about what she had told the night porter regarding our late arrival, and was most helpful when booking taxis, transfers and arranging breakfast on check out. She even arrived for work 15 minutes early on the last day to ensure we caught our transfer back to the airport. A real champion and credit to the hotel - if you read this Roberta your help was much appreciated.||||The pool was pleasantly heated, with a neat intersection to take you into the indoor section. Plenty of beds available with padding - not the most comfortable of beds however!||||The bar was good and comfortable, offering a wide range of drinks. On the way to the pool, there is a strange corridor you pass through which I assumed was the spa area - it was a rather eerie and sinister section of the hotel!||||Rooms would good, although the beds were a touch hard and the showers were difficult to manoeuvre in. Above all, the décor was rather old fashioned and tired and could do with some modernisation.||||In comparison with a similar hotel we stayed in recently in Malaga, this fell short in terms of comfort and modernisation, but was fine for our purpose. More of a place to stay for 1 or 2 nights, not...

I Romani ci avevano...
