Hotel Terme Venezia is a nice place to spend several days and relax. It's not very large, but the pool area is decent size and not overpopulated. Saunas are clean and well maintained, the Grotto is absolutely amazing, it was my favorite place at the entire spa area. Massages and mud treatments are pretty basic.
My definite likes are: Grotto! Very clean and comfortable rooms. The hotel is close to a nice pedestrian area with bars and stores. Breakfast with all these Italian meats and cheeses. Great coffee, I don't know why they can't have the same coffee machines at American hotels, and we have to drink this coffee flavored water from plastic cups.
Dislikes: Older public. I understand the resort is not designed for a young crowd due to its nature, but I did not realize the majority will be in their retirement age. It's not bad, I am just not old enough :). No water anywhere except of the bars. When you have a thermal treatment or swim in the very warm water, you get dehydrated, but there are no drinking fountains or bottled water anywhere in the spa area, you have to buy your own. It's inconvenient and can get pretty expensive if you always go to the bar. The water at the store is 30 cents for a 1.5 liter bottle, I think the hotel can afford putting one bottle to each room every day or make them available in all public areas. You really have to check your bill, I encountered several extra charges for services I did not have. I understand, people make mistakes, it happens, so checking is recommended.
An overall experience was still pleasant, I will probably come back when...
Read moreNice hotel. Pretty good location. The grounds and pool area are excellent. If you swim in the pool, they require you to wear a swim cap. Water is very warm and pleasant. ||The food in the restaurant is mediocre. We are East European traditions. Breakfast very limited choice, except for pastry (a lot) At dinner you order from the daily menu, but the choices are limited (see pictures). The salad bar is where you actually have options, which is helpful. I was surprised at how much sugar they put in their pastries—they are all overly sweet. I assume their Chef has never worked in a private restaurant; otherwise, it would go out of business quickly. If they want to call it Italian cuisine, this is the worst version of it, include their different types of macaroni, sprinkled with a little bit of kind of souse. I was surprised that Italians do not eat any kind of soups. So you have option to order pure-soup. At dinner, you have to buy even water. I compared it to Karlovy Vary. We ordered the breakfast and dinner meal option, which was more than enough.||Entertainment (couples dancing) is offered on Thursday and Friday evenings after dinner. In the room only refrigerator - nothing complimentary. We booked a two-week package that included 14 medical treatments (mud therapy and massage) for each person. The Wi-Fi signal is limited—it only works inside the hotel and is not available at the outside pool area or in front of the building.||All of the staff is very friendly and...
