During a recent spa getaway to Abano Terme, a happy twist of fate led me to one of the culinary highlights of my trip. After arriving too late for my hotel’s dinner service, the staff kindly recommended Ristorante Poesia — and I’m so glad they did. From the moment I walked in, it was clear this wasn’t just a meal, but an experience. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between elegance and warmth, with thoughtful interior design that complements the refined yet welcoming vibe. Ci siamo conosciuti in un sabato di pioggia, la cucina a vista del ristorante Poesia, in piazza Repubblica, ad Abano, non poteva non attirare la mia attenzione. Amo cucinare, mi piace mangiare bene, ho due figli nel campo della ristorazione, mastico ricette e regole di comportamento in sala e cucina tutti i giorni, la sosta era quindi d’obbligo. Stavo osservando un ragazzo che ricopriva sfere di cioccolato bianco con una ganache di cioccolata fondente, ciò che colpiva era l’attenzione, la cura, l’entusiasmo che traspariva in quell’azione. Sulla porta Dimitri, il titolare del locale, ci viene incontro e ci racconta di come è cominciata quell’avventura che sarebbe poi diventata il suo sogno, il poter avere un locale tutto suo e dare voce alla sua grande passione. Si, perché senza passione un mestiere come questo non si può fare. Dimitri ci ha invitato a visitare il suo locale, creato praticamente con le sua mani e il suo sudore, con sacrifici, debiti ma ancora, tanta passione. Ci ha presentato anche la sua splendida bambina, sottolineando quanto sia importante per lui la famiglia e gli affetti che ne fanno parte. Una visita per provare la sua cucina se la è proprio meritata. Prenoto per sei, ho già parlato di lui e del suo locale ai miei figli, siamo tutti curiosi. Ci presentiamo puntuali, per pranzo, Dimitri ci accoglie e ci accompagna al tavolo, al piano di sopra, una bella sala, accogliente delle giuste dimensioni, tavoli ben distanziati con bella vista sulla piazza. La mise en place è da ristorante di classe, tovaglie di buon cotone, cristalleria di qualità, belle posate in acciaio. Il menù ci viene “raccontato” da Dimitri con l’entusiasmo che ci si aspettava, i piatti sono tutti della tradizione ma hanno un tocco di Poesia in più, ciò che arriva in tavola è segno di attenzione per l’ospite e tanta, tanta voglia di far bene. Buona anche la carta dei vini. Spaziamo dagli antipasti, ai primi, ai secondi, tutti piatti di pesce di ottima qualità, ottima fattura e attenzione all’impiattamento; l’ospite deve ricordare di aver pranzato o cenato in un locale dove la passione è al primo posto. C’è spazio anche per i dolci, anche questi pienamente in linea con il resto del menù. Non mi soffermo volutamente nella descrizione delle pietanze, è giusto riservare a Dimitri questo piacere, e poi la sorpresa non deluderà di certo.
