Greediness of the owner of hotel in order to get max financial benefits from quests. ||First, we booked the room with a mountain view as per booking.com. But we received for the first night like a jail cell small room (maybe 8 m2 instead of 18 m2 advertised on booking) facing the street. On the 2nd day they changed the room for better option. ||Secondly, in the booking.com it was mentioned, that Capriccioli hotel has private beach. What came to our mind - very good, we will enjoy this beach, as it is private, and should be a part of the service you get staying in that hotel. But no - the day after we booked, we received an informational email from hotel, that the beach service is 80,- Eur/ day. So why to trick the quests mentioning it is private then? And the price for that same beach is even less, if you go and book directly at that beach. ||Breakfast was vey poor - it was basically nothing to eat. No choice at the buffet, it is a shame really, that when you spend around 440,- Eur/night, you do not get basically anything. All you here - "you have to pay". But I just wanted a reasonable choice to have at least proper food for breakfast buffet. ||And last point which made me write this review - attitude we received. One day I got too much son, and remembered that they used to put in the bathroom body lotions (small samples). It was not there, and we asked for replacement. What we were told in return - that body lotions are supposed to be provided only for higher category rooms and the ones we had before in the room - they were given by mistake. Can you imagine? It costs cents! ||So, I would never advise anyone, who is into more service than only good location, to stay in that hotel. I fell I was treated like a cash machine (for no service provided). I do not think the price we paid reflects the value of service that we got. Shame on that lady owner for this attitude and her greediness, that is all...
Read moreFrom the moment we arrived, we were looked after, when Emanuela came to our car to meet us. From then, we were shown to our room (simple and lovely, as clean as clean could be, with a lovely balcony view of the sea, and a comfortable bed). The staff were all so helpful and personal - Emanuela and Joya on reception, Pierro in the bar, and the fabulous Georgio running the team in the dining room who greeted me daily with the most lovely welcome. His waiting team were all great, including Federica and Katerina, who welcomed us, and put up with our terrible Italian, and taught us patiently anything we wanted to learn. ||||This is a very Italian hotel - in week one we were the only English people, and in week two there were only two other couples, but the staff speak good English. It was good to know we were in a hotel where the Italians choose to stay.||||There are several beaches nearby, but after a few days we stuck to the hotel's private beach, where we could reserve beds under lovely thatched umbrellas. There we were looked after by two lifeguards, Gean Paolo and Stefano, who I watched manage the countless demands of everyone so well, and always greeted us and reserved a bed for the next day if we asked.||||We snorkelled, but you can also rent a speed boat, peddle boat and other items. Snorkelling was okay in restricted area (deeper out there are too many fast boats, and yachts....seriously billionaires paradise!) but don't expect a coral reef - we saw a lovely range of fish though and swam for hours each day.||||I recommend a car as it's not in a town, but near to some lovely places - ignore Porta Cervo as it's so fake, but do try Cannigione and San Pantaleo. Suggest finding your restaurant when you arrive, booking, then going off for a lovely tour of the towns, including...
Read moreThe room was very clean, basic furniture and the beds medium-firm (I had a garden view room with a balcony). The staff were very friendly and helpful. I particularly liked the maitre d in the restaurant who recommended the mini lobsters which were absolutely delicious. The breakfast is v large and tasty. Lunch starts at 12.30pm. Dinner starts at 8pm the menu is al la carte so 14-30 Euro per dish. ||The view from the infinity pool and restaurant are both stunning and romantic. You can see the mountains, sea and the odd super yachts anchored up near Cala di Volpe. The pool is sea water. The hotel was fully booked but the pool was never busy. There is a pool bar which serves food and drinks during the day. The Capriccioli salad was tasty. ||I found five beaches around a five min walk, one of which was soft sand (I’m sure there were more beaches). Deserted and beautiful coves during the early hours of 6.30-8am jam packed with Italians by 9 (as in you will struggle to get towel to touch sand). People start arriving at the beach to sunbath at 7 in the morning!||I would recommend this hotel and I would return with family. If you are looking for a romantic, rustic hotel right on the beach in a stunningly beautiful location then this is lovely. This is a family hotel with an international crowd so expect kids in the pool and noise at night of families returning to rooms. I would give it 3.5 stars for the room itself and four stars for food, staff and scenery. Please put tea/coffee making facilities...
