We stayed here for our last 3 nights of our Sardinian holiday and what a find! Though we are not ones just to sit on the beach for an entire holiday, this place may make us change our minds. The rooms are more like apartments, with 2 double bedrooms, a sitting area and a kitchen with full sized fridge/freezer, hobs but no oven. But the best is your own private patio right on the beach. ||||Since there were only 2 of us, they only unlocked one bedroom, which was a nice sized double and am sure the other bedroom was of the same size. There is a TV in the lounge with Sky, though it didn't have very many English channels. The bathroom was well laid out with a door between the sink area and the loo and shower, so you can still wash up or brush you teeth when someone else is having a shower. The sitting room is rather sparse, but you wouldn't be using it much as you'll be sitting on your patio, which has a big wooden table and chairs, as well as beach chairs and a parasol. I'm sure the beach will be absolutely packed in the summer, but for us it was perfect, with a lot of locals out on the first day as the weather was fantastic, some were even in the sea (but it was too cold for us!). There were a few old men fishing from the shore as well, so a real proper local beach.||||The restaurant is upstairs with a terrace overlooking the beach and the food was superb, with loads of fresh fish of course, as well as a very substantial wine list. The owners are very, very friendly and the waitress (their daughter?) was brilliant. We had 3 meals there over the 3 nights and would happily have gone back for more.||||There is plenty of parking, which is a bonus, as there didn't seem to be much, if any, free parking around, and in the summer, would be a necessity.||||All in all, an almost perfect place, with great accomodation, very friendly and professional staff and fantastic food. The only small downpoint was that breakfast was not great, with only bread, butter, yogurts and jam (and juice and coffee), but you don't need to take the breakfast, and with a market across the street, you can buy what you want to have and fix your own breakfast in your flat.||||A definite must if you're going to Bosa and want to stay...
Read moreWhen arriving in beautiful Bosa, we went straight to the Marina di Bosa which features some hotels/ appartments straight on the beach. After we had unsuccessfully asked for rooms in two locations, we came to the Residence Lido Chelo. The lady who showed us the rooms, was definetely not keen on any guests and we should have left the building immediately. Since the location on the beach was so nice, it was late and we had received two negative answers before, we decided to stay. Big mistake! The room was ok but the view to the beach could not be enjoyed since the shades were broken and could not be lifted! Towels and soap where not in the room and had to be asked for at reception (where usually nobody was present). The same unfriendly Italian lady handed out the soap and the towels with a face as we would rob the hotel. Breakfast was only offered for one hour, between 8 and 9 a.m. and check out was already at 10 a.m. Since the restaurant was right above the room, it was not only loud at night but also in the morning during the breakfast hours. Furthermore the reception was next to the room and since nobody was present there, nobody could pick up the phone which was constantly ringing from early morning. Last but not least one of the hotel clerks started at 8:30 to clean the beach umbrellas and beach benches right outside of our apparmtent with a high pressure-cleaner. We were glad to check out and leave the place and will never come back there and would not recommend anyone...
Read moreWe stayed in a beach side appartment for 1 week during peek season. Rooms were clean, beds were crisp and slept like home. The terrace right on the beach was great, we could relax with a book and drink, while keeping an eye on the kids while they enjoyed them selves on the beach with the neighbours kids. The hotel has a private area on the beach an offers 2 beach chairs and a parasol. Sunbeds were extra. The kitchen was well equiped, the gas hobs not always working properly. Although we did not use it, the owner even offered us to use his BBQ. Owners Sandro and Sandra were very kind and helpfull! The bathroom was large, the floor a bit slippery after use, carefull with the kids! Every morning we enjoyed a cappuchino with croissants prepared by the hotel and we had 2 great diners prepared by the up stairs restaurant and was served on our terrace. A super service. Since the location is right on the beach, there is some noise in the evenings. This was no problem at all because we could close the windows and switch on the airco. We planned to explore arround Bosa, but only managed to visit Bosa, since we hardly left the appartment. we will...
