Pros Amazing building Interesting architecture Spiral stone stairway is Castle worthy. Great lake Como views Small plunge pool was open even in late November with outdoor pavilion. Multiple living levels High ceiling bedrooms Multiple bathrooms INCREDIBLE dining room in barrel vaulted 600 year old grotto. Have to see it to believe it. Private garden terraces. Exceptional lighting fixtures Excellent wifi Super location but be prepared to walk some steep cobblestone steps and streets...that's part of the lakeside charm Nice little balcony with million dollar views

Cons Thin walls between upstairs bedrooms. Tiny kitchen w micro freezer/fridge but otherwise well equipped and charming. Complicated recycling schema.

Neutral Steep narrow metal gangways to loft sleeping, although this may be a positive if you're limber or young at heart or just like different.

Great place to stay in Carate Urio. Plenty of space for even the biggest of families. The kitchen is well kitted out and there is a possibility of ordering a chef to cook for you. There are three floors 2 of which are dedicated for bedrooms and bathrooms. There is a terrace with plenty of outside furniture for sunbathing and a pool (this was unfortunately out of service for us during our visit). Close by are plenty of places to swim in the Lake along side the locals. Be warned that there is NO parking near the villa the closest you can come to the Villa by road is 100 meters by a small...

This place is AMAZING!! The house is made in such a beautiful way with respect for all details! It is super classy and cosy! And a lot of opportunities! Both the outdoor areas are wonderfull and also the indoor opportunities are great - having a video night from the sofa or a nice dinner (and maybe some lovely wine) in the dinningroom - which is soo nice, like being in a real cave!
