The food at the Restaurant was excellent and the view at the restaurant was excellent!
However, the experience otherwise was very poor. We were greeted very warmly and given bread quickly. Our food came very quickly - which usually is nice - but the wait was even too short, approximately 10 minutes. But obviously being served too quickly is not a problem. However, There was a hair in one of our foods.
After we had eaten our food, we were not served for approximately 40 minutes at all. No one came to pour any wine even though we had purchased a wine bottle and our glasses had been empty for approximately half an hour , and when we pointed this out to the waiter, he just mentioned “bad service”. No one came to ask whether we wanted dessert or coffee.
We were looking forward to ordering dessert, but as no one came to ask for our order for a bit less than 50 minutes, we let it be. Ultimately, no one came to ask for the cheque and we went to the counter to pay. At this moment, we pointed out the poor service and delay, after which the waiter laughed at us at gave us a 15 euro discount, which was a tiny amount of our final bill. Not a good...
Read moreA bit of a mixed review really, so let me be honest. I called half an hour before to see if they could fit us in for a table last minute - the response was positive and really friendly. We managed to get parked, which is not the easiest, and we're just in awe of the view - it was beautiful. The restaurant also has a great vibe. The service was really good. We ordered the steak tartare to start, which was a bit bland. The pizza was absolutely beautiful, really great, but more expensive dishes failed to impress. I had the pork loin with gorgonzola, which I really enjoyed. Sadly it was rather overpriced on reflection. My wife ordered the fillet of sole, and on this rare occasion we had to send it back. I asked if it was fully cooked and the waiter explained it had been sous-vide, hence the texture. We tried a few bites and, well, just didn't like it. The waiter was amazing and understanding - replacing it with a salad (on request) and striking the fish from the bill. After a few more nights in and around Lake Como, we just feel the restaurant was somewhat overpriced. Would recommend for the view, a bottle of prosecco...
Read moreWe went here for dinner and here is our review: the location and view are amazing with nice views of the lake, villages and mountains. The service was also very good with many friendly servers around. Now the disappointing parts: We each had an appetizer for more than €20 and both were huge disappointments. Especially, the 1 cm thick quiche with duck meat, probably weighing 100 grams! (€23) The main course was a further disappointment with each costing €37 and €35. The fish of the day was simple and maybe 150 grams of meat with an average taste. The tuna filet was so small that we estimate it at around 100 grams while the taste was nothing special - just fried in the pan and a little salt on top. Finally, because we were still hungry, we shared another ridiculously small desert for €13 Euro at an estimated weight of 50 grams. At this point we felt pretty ripped off and were further shocked by the total bill which included €12 for 2 bottles of water and €12 for “coperto” (just sitting down). We would recommend only going there for drinks and pizza - but be aware that a pizza dinner for 2 people will probably set...
