I was trying to find a place close enough to the Brindisi airport but far enough from the city to still feel I was on holiday. The town of Torre Santa Sabina is a cute Italian resort straddling a couple of bays. The feel is very Italian and there were no foreign tourists - a stark contrast to Ostuni, only a few miles to the north. La Caletta is a super clean B&B on the northern-end bay of the village, and it is run by a lovely couple that was very helpful. English is not really spoken, but they will go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. The restaurant suggestion for the evening they gave us, Da Michele, a lovely waterfront restaurant right below the ancient tower in town, was superb! A 10 min walk to the north of the guest house, you will find another sand beach at the end of a rocky cove, but if you prefer the rocky cliffs of the Costa Merlata, there is a spot a 2 minutes walk from the bedrooms. Read moreOur Four-day stay at La Caletta wasn't long enough! It is situated right on the Adriatic. You walk out the door and find natural pools made of shell-encrusted volcanic rock where you can jump into the sea. Nearby there are wonderful sandy beaches as well. The food is unbelievably fabulous wherever you choose to eat.|Proprietors Mauro and his daughter Giorgia took great care of us and gave us suggestions of what to do and see in the area. The rooms are immaculate and beautifully decorated- we were sad to leave. There is so much to do and see so make sure to allow enough time. La Caletta was the highlight of our Italian vacation. The price to stay is unreasonably reasonable for what you receive. Don't miss it if Puglia is on your agenda. If it's...
Read moreWe have been there for (only) two nights and our stay has been very nice. The room was clean, the breakfast tasty and generous and we could also try typical ‘pasticciotti leccesi’. You may need a car to reach it, but beaches are around 10 minutes by walk and its location grants a lot of silence all day long and during the night and you will never find it crowded, as there are only four rooms. Mauro, the host, was very nice and you can buy there traditional olive oil. I really suggest it if you are planning relaxing...
