Resort Il Casale Bolgherese — Hotel in Castagneto Carducci

After a fun ride up the hills in Suvereto, Sassetta and Castegneto Carducci, the flat area of Bolgheri and Bibona were a nice surprise. Fertile land covered in tomato fields, vineyards and olive groves, this part of Tuscany has cantinas and tenutas galore. The Resort opened last year. It is a gated condominium project with owners living there year-round and some rental units. Recently planted shrubbery and flowers will eventually give this Resort the look of an oasis. Our room, the Esmeraldo was designed to be wheelchair friendly. It is in a single level building that houses the administration/reception desk and the door gives into the bar/restaurant.This does not allow for much privacy but it didn't really bother us.There is a hide-away kitchen with small stove, sink, fridge and dining area. An IKEA-style bed had a decently comfortable mattress. A back door led to our private small terrace and grass backyard. The resort has a pool which was most welcome in the heat. Breakfast consisting of coffee and croissant can be ordered after 8 30 AM. A good home base to travel from. Nearby beaches to check out are in nearby Donoratico, Marina Bibbona and Cécina. The owner of the project spoke only Italian but his personable assistant Shana was fluent in English. She was very nice and even helped us retrieve a forgotten item. We had a wonderful stay at Casale Bolgherese. Our hosts couldn’t have bern more helpful, we arrived late on Saturday and then managed to secure bookings for some wine tastings at short notice. They provided very helpful information about visiting the area and restaurant recommendations. Struttura molto bella, immersa nella campagna Bolgherese e a pochi km dal mare di Castagneto Carducci e Donoratico, fornita di diversi servizi per rendere piacevole il soggiorno: piscina con prato, ombrelloni e sdrai, campo da tennis con attrezzatura fornita, giardino ampio con tavolini in veranda per la colazione (non inclusa nel prezzo) o un drink. Camere moderne ben arredate, dotate di angolo cottura, buona l'idea di una tendina oscurate che lo rende "a scomparsa". UNICO APPUNTO: Le camere, sviluppandosi in altezza in quanto dotate di soppalco con letto matrimoniale, nel periodo caldo dell'anno risentono dell'aumento di temperatura nella loro porzione superiore, più a ridosso del tetto. La parte dedicata al sonno risulta anche quella dove la circolazione dell'aria dall'esterno tramite finestre è molto più limitata, anche a causa della mancata fornitura del braccio per l'apertura di quelle superiori a basculante. Di conseguenza, SUGGERISCO AI GESTORI DI ATTIVARE L'IMPIANTO DI ARIA CONDIZIONATA PRESENTE IN OGNI CAMERA SENZA RIFERIRSI AD UNA DATA DELL'ANNO PRECISA, MA GIÀ IN OCCASIONE DEI PRIMI AUMENTI DI TEMPERATURA, trattandosi di percezioni quantomai soggettive, come giustamente ci è stato riportato anche...
