Hotel La Fenice — Hotel in Castel di Sangro

This is a great family-owned and operated hotel/restaurant just outside of the center of Castel di Sangro. The location is very convenient with less traffic than city center and close to gas stations and main roads. The hotel is very clean and offers more amenities than you would typically find in a hotel in this area, including a gym, full restaurant and bar, and banquet room. The pizza is fantastic - the restaurant is an Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana verified restaurant (the only one in Castel di Sangro). Una delusione totale: un hotel a quattro stelle che non ne vale neanche una

Abbiamo soggiornato una notte presso l’hotel La Fenice, io e il mio compagno, e siamo rimasti profondamente delusi. Questo albergo si presenta come un quattro stelle, ma non ne vale nemmeno una. Appena entrati in camera, ci siamo trovati davanti a un ambiente sporco e trascurato: polvere ovunque e un bagno in condizioni disastrose. Gli asciugamani erano talmente sottili che sembravano scottex, e gli angoli della doccia erano ricoperti da sporco incrostato, come se non avessero mai visto una pulizia adeguata.

Come se non bastasse, il phon a parete soffiava soltanto aria fredda, obbligandomi ad asciugare i capelli con grande difficoltà e rischiando un malanno. Il letto era scomodissimo, con un materasso rigido e cuscini praticamente inesistenti, rendendo impossibile riposare.

Un dettaglio assurdo è stato il costo della scheda della camera e del telecomando della TV in caso di smarrimento: ci è stato detto che avremmo dovuto pagare un supplemento di ben 25 € totali. Una cifra spropositata per due oggetti che non giustificano affatto tale richiesta.

La colazione è stata la ciliegina sulla torta di questa pessima esperienza. La scelta era poverissima, e la qualità dei prodotti ancora peggiore. L’unica cosa accettabile era il cornetto alla Nutella. Le torte e le crostate sembravano preparate da giorni e avevano un sapore stantio. La frittata con le uova e il bacon era fredda, e il cappuccino aveva un sapore terribile, con un caffè bruciato e imbevibile.

Abbiamo pagato 120 € per questa esperienza, una cifra che non riflette minimamente il valore offerto. È inaccettabile che una struttura che si definisce a quattro stelle abbia standard così bassi. Sarebbe stato molto meglio optare per un Bed & Breakfast, dove avremmo certamente trovato più pulizia, cortesia e un trattamento degno.
