Kalidria Thalasso Spa Resort — Hotel in Castellaneta

The best thing about the hotel is the hotel itself, the rooms are clean and spacious and well equipped, the beds and mattresses are of very high quality and so are the windows, doors and the AC. Due to the exceptional architecture, every room has a similar very nice view to the park and the hotel is an excellent place to relax. Moreover, the beach, which you can reach by a small toy train that goes every 30 minutes, is fantastic, if you like a quiet atmosphere without music. At the beach you can take mile long walks pretty alone. |The food served at the dinner, a four-course dinner, is really excellent, if you like meat or fish. You can select each course from three options. For vegetarians, the options are fewer. The quality of the breakfast is lower, the eggs are sometimes cold and not all food is quickly refilled but most products are very good, in particular the cheese.|On the downside, the service in the hotel is of mixed quality. The beach bar should be open until 6, but sometimes closes at 5:15, the service at the bar at night is constantly hiding from the customers (but they serve you drinks once you find out where they hide), and the service at the breakfast and dinner is rather chaotic. There is a dining area outside, which is very nice and romantic, and a dining area inside with the charm of a college food hall. Understandably, when it is raining, one has to sit inside but in our second week the management decided that it would be more convenient for the hotel to serve the dinner always inside, regardless of whether the weather is nice outside, a very unfortunate decision for a hotel that claims to have 5 stars, as I found. |There is not much entertainment at the hotel, which I liked, but there is a musician at the bar who is very fine, though more on the melancholic side. If you look for entertainment and amusement you can walk to the Valentino Resort next door, which belongs to the same company, but this resort and its entertainment are of a very different level than Kalidria.|Overall, this hotel does not make the impression of an exclusive 5-star hotel, rather a 4-star superior, which is fine since the price is one for a 4-star superior hotel. I recommend it to persons who seek relaxation without entertainment in a beautiful environment and have some patience concerning...

Arrived at this 5* building not overly impressed on arrival after having been to a five star in Greece, but this is a quirky hotel with greenery growing on top of the building, as your stay grows you start to appreciate this is a eco friendly reserve type of place it grows on you🙂, staff are great, food and wine is excellent a la carte have to be a bit adventurous some evenings but you will be pleasantly surprised, please note drinks are not included but are reasonably priced, compared to other 5* hotels pool is saltwater and loveley and relaxing never seems over crowded, the description of pools in their advert is slightly misleading as says you have 5 pools in fact you have one, and 3 shallow ponds that look like pools in the advert, the others are in the other hotels in the complex two big ones being 100 m away in the Valentino next door including football courts, basketball and tennis all in good condition, the beauty in this is all the noise is away from your hotel and makes it very relaxing, the private beach is superb soft clean white sand kayaks water boards paddling boats all free to use for guests of the kalidria, the beach is quite far away on foot but they have little trains every 10-15 minutes that take you back and forwards to about 8pm from early morning, if you have a car you can park virtually outside the entrance. I would recommend a car if you want to go out after dinner to the town it’s ten minutes away by car, they have excursions and can rent a car in the reception. Please note do not be afraid to ask staff about anything they are very helpful but maybe there is not as much info about things that you can find yourself, you do need to ask, but as I said very helpful, plenty of places to visit around the area but need a car or book the excursions. Would definateley book again so relaxing and some celebrities turn up there but the hotel does not make a song and dance about it and tries to protect their privacy, whilst we were there Fabriano Romano the football journalist was there and vasco Rossi italys answer to rod Stewart🤷‍♂️. Dopo essere stati clienti la scorsa estate, anche quest'anno io e la mia compagna abbiamo soggiornato in questo resort (dal 11/09 al 24/09). La struttura è molto bella (anche se, trattandosi di un 5 stelle, servirebbe una maggiore scrupolosità riguardo alla manutenzione strutturale e nell'apportare, ogni anno, migliorie estetiche e funzionali). La spiaggia (raggiungibile con navetta che transita ogni 30 minuti) è molto bella e pulita ed è fornita di un baretto ed un ristorante in loco (unico neo il poco distanziamento tra gli ombrelloni, considerato anche l'enorme spazio presente, potrebbero tranquillamente essere un po' più distanziati). La nostra camera era ampia e pulita, anche se, senza troppe pretese, mi sarei aspettato qualcosina in più in termini di arredo e funzionalità (ad esempio, sul terrazzo sarebbe stato utile un mini stendino in modo da poter far asciugare costumi ed accappatoi umidi). Nella struttura vi è un'area riservata alla Thalasso & SPA, la quale offre molti servizi e che merita veramente di essere provata. Il Bar interno è molto fornito, la sala del ristorante è di grandi dimensioni (colazione e pranzo a buffet, cena a la carte, con possibilità di fare colazione e di cenare anche all'esterno). Il cibo è abbondante in termini quantitativi e sublime a livello qualitativo, c'è un'ampia scelta che è praticamente impossibile rimanere delusi. All'esterno della struttura c'è un'area con dei divanetti e con dei tavolini, dove è possibile gustarsi un aperitivo e, soprattutto la sera dopo cena, passare qualche ora in compagnia del Maestro Alex De Vito (piano bar) che allieta gli ospiti con la sua bravura, il suo carisma e, soprattutto, con la sua disarmante simpatia. Oltre ad Alex, anche tutto il resto del personale (nessuno escluso) si è sempre mostrato professionale, gentile e disponibile, tra cui il responsabile Massimo Villani, gli addetti al Bar (Giuseppe, Filippo, Alessio, Maria Grazia, Antonella), la responsabile di sala (Giovanna), gli addetti in sala (Nicola, Roberto, Simone, Marika, Alessandra), l'addetto all'area GYM (Pietro), il responsabile dell'area SPA (Gianluca), le receptionist (Nunzia, Chiara) e tutte le addette alle pulizie. CIASCUNO DI LORO MERITEREBBE 10 STELLE. Purtroppo ho dato 3 stelle poichè la quiete che era solitamente presente, è stata stravolta dalla presenza di 2 gruppi aziendali, uno meno numeroso (circa 15 persone) che abbiamo già trovato al nostro arrivo e che è andato via dopo 3 giorni, ed un altro più numeroso e molto più chiassoso di circa 60 persone (arrivato il 15/09 ed è andato via il 18/09); non esiste che in una struttura del genere, forse considerata il fiore all'occhiello del gruppo Bluserena, vengano accolti in massa individui tali (stereo nell'area relax dove ci sono le vasche idromassaggio esterne, stereo in spiaggia, partite di calcio in spiaggia, schiamazzi ed urla sia in spiaggia che in struttura). Spostandosi in massa e, soprattutto, essendo dei gran maleducati, è inevitabile che poi si verifichino questi episodi spiacevoli (se malauguratamente andavi al bar per bere un caffè e li trovavi in fila, oltre a sembrare di essere ad un mercato ittico per via delle grida, era preferibile ripassare dopo un'ora in modo da non trovare ''quell'ammucchiata''). Se dopo un intenso anno di lavoro, una coppia sceglie di trascorrere un periodo di relax in una determinata struttura di prestigio (pagando cifre importanti), ritengo che sia doveroso da parte di chi di dovere, far si di ridurre al minimo possibile fonti di disturbo che minano la quiete che solitamente è presente in una struttura del genere. Capisco il voler fatturare il più possibile, ma se si vuole vendere per un resort a 5 stelle, quanto meno occorre far tenere un comportamento consono alla location o evitare di accogliere gruppi in massa (in quest'ultimo caso ci sono dei villaggi più popolari ed adatti alle esigenze di queste persone).
