Recently stayed at Beteya Hostel Don Bosco in Catania for two nights with my family of seven. This beachfront hotel is situated on a very spacious property, offering plenty of room to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Based on what you're paying, the hotel offers its best. It's important to note that this is not a high-end hotel, but it provides good value for the cost. The staff is very friendly and they do their best to accommodate any personal requests, making our stay more comfortable and enjoyable. The English breakfast buffet spread provided a good variety of options to start the day. Additionally, parking, as well as beach umbrellas and sunbeds, are provided free of charge, which was a great convenience. The rooms are spacious and clean, and they include all the necessary amenities. Housekeeping performs daily cleaning, changes the towels, and replaces the toiletries, ensuring that the rooms remain comfortable throughout our stay. Ground floor rooms also include a spacious outdoor seating area, which was a lovely addition for relaxing outside. The hotel is practically situated at the end of the Catania airport runway. hence, during the daytime, planes take off and land, providing an exciting view for aviation enthusiasts. At night, there are only one or two planes for the entire night. Our family enjoyed watching the planes fly right above us, adding an unexpected and thrilling aspect to our stay. Another pleasant feature was the hotel’s sustainable decorations. The thoughtful and eco-friendly design elements were visually appealing and added a wholesome touch to the overall experience. Above all, the hotel highly surprised us upon arrival as we learned more about its noble intentions. It was constructed as part of a development initiative designed to promote the legal use of assets seized from organized crime. The hotel also employs a multi-national team, including ex-migrants with challenging pasts and differently-abled youth with a strong desire for change and personal growth. This commitment to social impact and sustainable practices added a profound and inspiring layer to our stay. The hotel also has a large, separate area for adventure activities that can be reserved by organizations and educational institutions. This adds an extra layer of enjoyment and opportunity for guests looking to engage in outdoor activities.
Additionally, the hotel has an in-house clothing store established on the foundations of Ethics, Solidarity, and Sustainability. By shopping here, guests can contribute to these values and assist in carrying out Solidarity Development initiatives...
Read moreGood hotel for the night before the morning flight, ask for breakfast to go, they can put irlt in a bag for you. They have a beach, pretty OK, fine sand, some sun umbrellas and chairs. Be prepared to hear the noise of leaving planes, it is exactly on their route, but they stop at midnight. Parking in front of hotel, when entering from via nazionale, stoo and press the button at the gate, they will open it, and then drive straight and to the left until reaching the hotel. Even if very close to the airport, the road is about 4km or more, because is going somehow around, direction Catania first and then retourning usual route to the airport. You will spend 11-12 minutes to reach the airport. Use a GPS to drive, roads not clear marked. If you have a rented car, be aware of the returning way, not very clear, too. Reserve some 10 extra...
