We have just finished a weeks stay at Ca Dell'Era Residence. The location is stunning, we were in the Finesa 1 bed which has an awesome view of the lake and is close to the pool and herb garden (great if you are cooking!). Apartment is clearly well thought out, very comfy, great patio and all the utensils you need for cooking. We loved ordering the bread via Francesca which was delivered to our room each morning and very cheap! The pool is in a stunning spot and very clean.||It is located a short easy walk from the village of Pieve which is a small village with two supermarkets, Church, bakery, some restaurants and a great viewpoint south down the lake. You can also start some walking trails from Pieve. We did the Lo walk which was on a guide provided by Francesca. It's a peaceful spot away from the bustle of the lakeside resorts but only 20 mins approx drive from Limone, where there are the boats and attractions.||Francesca was really great when we first arrived, giving us maps, the Garda discount card (money off the boats) and restaurant recommendations. We tried a few and favourites were La Forra, San Marco and Spaghetteria Da Nando. ||A word of caution - the drive up the valley from the main lake road is very very narrow at points and very windy. If you have just picked up hire car or not comfortable driving on right hand side then there is another gentler road down/up from Limone which we'd recommend. ||We can't fault this place. It's more than you'd expect from self catering and in a location that has to be seen to be fully...
Read moreWe had an excellent week's stay here, in a very well-fitted apartment with a stunning view over Lake Garda. We were in the pool - also with views - each day. ||||The apartment itself was very well fitted out. The kitchen had all the utensils, etc, we needed, there was plenty of space for two, there was comfy furniture and good storage, and there was a large balcony with a fantastic view over the lake.||||The pool is situated in the gardens and also has a view over the lake. Being the end of October it was getting a bit chilly, but the heating still kept it within the usable range.||||Our hostess Francesca was very friendly and helpful, including letting us move in three hours ahead of the usual check-in time when our arrival time was determined by the local bus timetable.||||The house is a few minutes easy walk to the village of Pieve, which has two general stores and a choice of bars and restaurants. It is possible to walk extensively in the surrounding countryside. ||||Do not be misled by maps without contour lines suggesting that Pieve is a 300 metre walk from the main road along the lakeside. In fact the village sits at the top of a 400m cliff above the lake, which creates both the fantastic views and a degree of isolation. Motorists can get here by mountain roads and the local bus route LN012 provides around four journeys per day down to Limone...
Read moreWe arrived at the Ca Dell'Era having braved the tight valley road, but were greeted by a warm hostess (thankyou Francesca!) and a quite amazing views over the lake towards Malsecine. ||||The room was well equipped and featured a spacious terrace with more views to die for, which is where we spent a deal of time. ||||We were glad of the short walk into the stunning village of Pieve to a well stocked shop, gelateria, bar, pharmacy, bank and a handful of restaurants. There are also some great restaurants to be had in the district of Tremosine, all of which are within 15 mins drive (although some of the driving is not for the faint hearted!).||||There was plenty to do in the vicinity, but I would recommend a car. Limone is worth a trip (20 mins) and we enjoyed Riva (30 mins). Our highlight was the trip to the other side of the lake to Locando San Vigilio, Garda itself and Malsecine Castle.||||The pool looked great, although was quite chilly (it was April). WiFi was free and fairly reliable. Heating and Air-Con was provided at a rather pricey 8 euro per day, although this was much needed due to cool nights we experienced.||||In summary, we loved our time at the Ca dell'Era. The place is peaceful and stunningly beautiful, and we would...
