Hotel Splendid Palace — Hotel in Comunità Montana Parco Alto Garda bresciano

So we stayed for 1 week in the splendid palace, Limone – Bed and Breakfast and we really enjoyed our stay – lets start with the positives||Positives||Hotel Location was excellent||Hotel Facilities was excellent – 3 Pools (1 indoor) and direct access to the lake where there was a jump off pier which our kids really enjoyed.||Hotel Bedrooms was spacious, really nice, clean and modern.||Hotel was absolutely immaculate.||Hotel bedroom staff, pool bar staff and restaurant staff was excellent – so polite and nice.||Negatives||Previous reviews about this hotel negativity all relates to reception staff and unfortunately I cannot disagree.||Issue 1||Taxi: 3 days prior we emailed looking to see if they could arrange a taxi and if so – what cost. We heard nothing for 2 days so we rang this time – they came back to us saying it would be €225 one way and if we want to proceed – we said no as we had a quotation of a company for €330 return trip.(trip advisor wont allow me state the company as its promoting them).||So as we exited arrivals we seen an A4 sheet with our name on it and we proceeded in the white 7 seater car. Before exiting airport carpark he crossed lane almost bumping into someone then the 2 drivers started having altercation and he screwed up the radio loud to drown out the other driver.. 5 mins later I got text when we were on motorway saying we got wrong taxi so we showed the taxi man the confirmation and he said yes that’s him, but I started to question it and he got really argumentative and his driving became erratic so we said – forget about it – lets get to hotel and we can sort out then.||When we arrived at hotel we explained to them we didn’t order that car/taxi, the one we had ordered was €165 and this one is looking for €225, we said that’s not our fault as the hotel was informed not to arrange it and we are now paying €60 more plus we let down the taxi we had booked.||Martinez (Receptionist) realized it wasn’t our fault but assured us there are no way we could get from airport to hotel for less than €200 – Martinez and Taxi Owner was talking in Italian in front of us – we couldn’t understand what they were saying – it was very rude as both had very good English. We agreed to pay the €225 as we trusted Martinez, plus first day there and we didn’t want it to dampen our first day on holiday. ||There was no way I was getting the same car/taxi back to airport so we contacted the original company I booked and said he would do the return for €165 but would need €20 cause we didn’t show up for when we arrived which was very fair. We paid €185 for the return to airport and what an excellent service it was.||Issue 2: We called reception to ask price for evening dinner – €25 adult and €15 for 12’s and under is what we were told. So we ate there and went to pay bill and then they tried to tell us its €25 for 12’s upwards. No apology or nothing and quite arrogant when correcting their mistake and like it was our fault for telling us the wrong information. The evening dinner wasn’t nice – buffet style but poor choices, I defo wouldn’t recommend eating dinner there.||Issue 3 – pool bar snacks||Upon our checkout they added on the tourist tax which is OK, but said we had pool bar snacks – Caeser salad and few drinks. Anything we got – we paid for as we got them. When we said that wasn’t ours – they got all defensive and the 2 receptionists starting talking in Italian again – again that’s very rude. We were there as a family and when 1 ate, we all ate. They reluctantly took this off the bill. In the end I said – look back on camera or ask the guy who served it if you don’t believe us.||Conclusion||We really loved the hotel and the facilities were brilliant – Breakfast was really good – the hotel was so clean, the views were amazing and the location was brilliant. I’d really like to stay there again but the reception staff has completely put me off – and as owners of this establishment I would really recommend them looking at this area.||If you are travelling from airport do not arrange...

I’d give more stars if I could. Such an unexpected gem on Lake Garda. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The views and staff are what makes this place great.

From the second we arrived we were greeting with warmth. Saw the flag of our country represented outside. All staff we met impressed us with their professionalism and language skills.

Our room (classic view) was dated but comfortable. Most rooms are more modern just be aware when booking. The bed was comfortable and room clean with individual balcony. The higher the floor the better the view - the bar reception is on the top floor as this has the road entry.

The AC could have been colder but I fell in love with our “90s cruise ship style room” and was sad to leave.

There are 2 pools - one outdoor. The bar and terrace are perfect. It’s a short walk to Limone and overlooks the ruins of the lemon terraces.

The breakfast was included and had so much fresh and varied produce. We paid 25€ for the buffet dinner and came back each night for it. As a vegetarian it gave me the best options and the staff were incredibly helpful. Possibly the best food I had in Italy.

We had some time to kill before our flight. The valet had our car parked safely and reception were happy for us to use the pool after checkout. Would recommend and hope to visit...

Ich habe lange nach dem passenden Hotel in Limone für unseren Kurztrip zum Gardasee gesucht, schließlich fiel die Wahl auf das Splendid Palace aufgrund der Lage und des sehr guten Preis-Leistungsverhältnisses.||.||Das Splendid Palace liegt direkt an der Hauptstraße entlang des westlichen Seeufers und bietet einen traumhaften Ausblick auf Limone sul Garda. Den Ort erreicht man durch einen kurzen 400m Fußmarsch über einen schmalen Weg der direkt über einen eigenen Zugang vom Hotelpool aus erreichbar ist.||.||DAS HOTEL||==========||Das Hotel ist sehr sauber und ordentlich und hat eine riesige Lounge mit Dachterasse sowie ein sehr großes Restaurant in der obersten Etage. Es verfügt über unzählige Zimmer verschiedener Kategorien jeweils mit Seeblick. Neben einem sehr großen Outdoorpool gibt es auch ein kleines, aber sehr schönes Hallenbad sowie einen Fitnessraum der ebenfalls einen tolle Blick auf den See bietet. Einziges Manko, das Hotel ist riesig und je nach dem wo man sein Zimmer hat muss man teilweise sehr weite Wege zurücklegen. Wer mit Kinder reist oder nicht so fit ist sollte das vielleicht beim Buchen angeben um ein Zimmer möglichst weit oben zu erhalten.||+ traumhafter Seeblick||+ sehr schöner großer Pool||+ tolles Hallenbad|| kleiner Fitnessraum mit Seeblick (etwas spärliche Auswahl)|| teilweise sehr weite Wege zum Zimmer je nach Zimmerkategorie/Lage||.||DIE ZIMMER||==========||Die Zimmer sind bis auf die teuren Suiten eher konservativ eingerichtet und nicht all zu groß, aber in Bezug auf den Preis absolut in Ordnung. Vom Balkon bietet sich ein sehr schöner Blick auf Limone aus einer perfekten Distanz, weit weg um nichts vom Trubel mitzubekommen aber nah genug um alles schön zu sehen.||+ wunderschöner Ausblick||+ sauber und ordentlich||+ einwandfreie Klimaanlage||~ Zimmer nicht all zu groß||- schlecht isolierte Wände, wer einen leichten Schlaf hat sollte eventuell mit Ohrstöpseln oder Kopfhörern schlafen, die Wände sind wirklich sehr sehr hellhörig||.||DER SERVICE||===========||Das Personal - vorwiegend sehr charmante junge Damen - ist extrem freundlich, man kann wirklich mit jedem Anliegen kommen. Also dickes Plus, selbst das Reinigungspersonal grüßt höflich, hier gibt es definitiv nichts auszusetzen.||.||LEISTUNGEN||===========||+ das Wifi (optional zubuchhbar) bietet eine ordentliche Verbindungsgeschwindigkeit besser als manch anderes Hotel am Gardasee||+ die Pools sind ebenso wie das Fitnessstudio sauber und gepflegt||+ die zubuchbare Garage bietet ausreichend Stellplätze und ist auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen, die Zufahrt ist etwas schmal und relativ steil, aber auch mit größeren Autos zu bewältigen||.||BAR/RESTAURANT/BUFFET||======================||An der Hotel Bar gibt es neben Drinks auch kleine Snacks und Imbisse zu sehr humanen Preisen, die Getränke sind hingegen eher teuer, insbesondere die Cocktails. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist sensationell und bietet (bis auf die Süßspeisen) eine überdurchschnittlich gute Auswahl für italienische Verhältnisse. Wir waren davon sehr positiv überrascht und hatten deutlich weniger erwartet.||+ sehr großes Frühstücksbuffet||+ sehr leckere Snacks zu humanen Preisen||- eher teure Cocktails an der Hotelbar||.||FAZIT||=====||Mit dem Splendid Palace macht man definitiv nichts verkehrt, das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist wirklich sehr gut. Extrem freundliches Personal, sehr gutes WIFI, sehr saubere zum Teil frisch renovierte Zimmer. Der Ausblick und die Lage sind ein Traum, hier wird einem von Fotos wirklich nicht zuviel versprochen. Wer mit Kindern anreist oder körperlich nicht mehr so fit sollte wie bereits erwähnt beim Buchen unbedingt ein Zimmer möglichst weit oben verlangen, der Pool ist über einen Lift und einen kurzen Gang zu erreichen. Man braucht eigentlich für einen Besuch von Limone kein Auto, da man binnen kurzem Fußmarsch direkt zum Porto Vecchio gelangt. Aufgrund der nicht allzugut isolierten Wände sind eventuell Ohrstöpsel...
