Even before arrival, Lucia, from the Hotel La Corte, was so helpful and provided information regarding our reservation in this restored wing, part of the medieval benedictine monastery called La Corte. The place is amazing, and in every corner and nook, there is history and a thrilling past. On arrival Lucia was helpful in giving the right tips of what to do and where to eat, and we ended up going for a stroll behind the monastery, watching a most amazing sunset by the canal... The actual rooms are very simple, and yet have all the comfort you need to get a great night's rest. The bathroom (in our case ensuite) was very spacious, and clean, as was the room. Simple, humble, in tune with the monastery's past, but cozy and welcoming. And breakfast was great too! Loved it, loved the care and attention of Lucia & staff, and if ever near we intend to stay here again. Ah, by the way: we stayed here to make a day-trip to Venice: it is definitely a good plan if you are on a budget, and want to squeeze more out of the trip! By car to Fuzina, it was under an hour driving, and easy to get in and out of Venice by...

Here 10 monks set up today's current farming system in the Po Valley. Nothing small! Extremely friendly staff and good service. Excellent abundant, fresh buffet breakfast. Very large room that slept 5. Good bathroom. Excellent local red wine (Raboso) to sip at sunset in the outdoor garden. Nearby bancomat, pharmacy, pub and restaurant within easy walking distance of less than 10 minutes. A great place to stay if visiting Venice. ||CON. It was very hot (35C) and the free-standing AC was insufficient to keep the room cool at night, so it was difficult...
Read moreDon’t be put off be the one-star hotel rating, which I think will be because some of the bedrooms have shared bathrooms possibly due to the historic use as a Benedictine monastery. As advertised on the hotel website, some of the rooms have private bathrooms. Clean and spacious rooms with lots of character - think high oak-beam ceilings, nice breakfast, welcoming staff, huge garden, reasonable price. The surroundings are peaceful with the hotel being situated by a village that has a couple of bars and restaurants, and a small bakery and supermarket. We had a nice long...
