I recently returned from a weekend away with friends staying in this super-friendly and pretty hotel which used to be the village’s granary. The hotel is full of history with photos of the family through generations and heirlooms hanging everywhere. But the rooms aren't old - super comfy beds, plenty of space for ski paraphernalia (plus there is a boot room downstairs along with a sauna and an underground garage, for a small extra cost) and balconies with beautiful views. We opted for a family room with second bedroom on the mezzanine - really spacious and with two bathrooms. ||||The best thing by far were the family and their friends than run the hotel along with the guard pig at the front door, the gorgeous St Bernard who pretends to be a rug and the bunnies and chinchillas by reception, plus of course, the many chickens who provide the eggs for breakfast (fab and included). Everyone was so friendly and helpful and a special mention to the lovely Isabella who was just fantastic - a great raconteur behind the bar, even if we did pay for it with slight headaches the next day! ||||The hotel's restaurant is in another building a minute's walk away and the food there was fantastic. Entrèves is a quiet and pretty village but it’s just a few minutes’ drive from Courmayeur and 5 mins on foot from the Val Veny ski lift where there is a ski hire shop with free storage lockers if you rent from them (there is another shop at the top of the lift too). I would definitely return to La Grange - a perfect spot with a choice of lovely restaurants but the après ski of Courmayeur close by if you want more noise. ||||Thanks so much for a super...

Read moreI would give less than 1 star !! Stay away from this hotel. Being an animal friendly hotel should not mean that they should allow for flies everywhere ... EVERYWHERE - in the garden, the lobby, the dark and gloomy dining room. Flies are even on the food they serve for breakfast! The rooms are dark and not sound proof - we couldn't sleep for 3 days with noise from the corridor, rooms next door, upstairs !!! I stayed there with my kids who were so excited to be with all sorts of animals.. turns out there are only a few chicken, 3 pigs, a goat and a few rabbits. The other animals they advertise on their website is not even on the same property and you only get to visit the "farm" once during your stay! They also advertise a restaurant which does not exist and when we told them about it they mentioned thay its not always open! The staff is absolutely awful and rude .. only one of the girls was nice and kind with the children .. the others have no idea what it means to be in the hospitality business .. specially the lady behind the counter who has absolutely to manners and needs to learn how to speak with paying customers. The kids were hardly ever allowed to play or hold the rabbits and they could not go into the chicken coop or help in any way with the animals!!! Do yourself a favor, stay away. There are MANY much nicer hotels in the surrounding areas for much cheaper & with much much...
