These apartments are located a short drive from Golfo Aranci in Golfo di Marinella. We were drawn to stay in this quieter area to use as a base to explore Costa Smeralda, with the comfort of self-catering, safe parking & a nice view from our balcony. We were able to find all of this with Le Corti di Marinella along with a great price. Many alternate accommodations in the town are not open until May for the season so it was quiet and tranquil in the low season. It is a bay filled with apartment style accommodation and a hotel with service facilities for the guests minutes drive from Olbia, Golfo Aranci & Porto Rotondo.||||ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE||It is relatively easy to find these apartments if arriving by car. However the signs and intersections appear suddenly so it is easy to make a mistake. If arriving from Olbia, follow the signs to Costa Smeralda on the SS125 road. Then the highway turn off right to Golfo Aranci/Porto Rotondo SP73 then at the next intersection Golfo di Marinella/Golfo Aranci, the next turn off for Golfo di Marinella & Porto Rotondo. Once arriving to the next intersection there is a sign for Le Corti di Marinella, follow it along and the reception has a spot to leave the car outside whilst doing formalities. If arriving from the north follow the signs to Porto Rotondo/Golfo Aranci. Parking was ample, and in low season it posed as no problem. The signage is good to navigate around the area however there are some intersections that suddenly have a sign for a turn off with no prior warning.||||RECEPTION/RESERVATION ||We sent an email to the website of Le Corti di Marinella direct that is to the Getur Hotels group. An agency had the price at nearly fifty euro higher for the week so the saving was worthwhile investigating the best price. We had a phone call from the call centre of the group to confirm the details of the email with a price & confirmed them via telephone. We received an email with the quote details & were requested to do a bank transfer with the deposit money. On the money being received we then got an email with the confirmation of the deposit and booking. On arrival we paid the caution money of 100 euro and we were given a receipt of it being paid. It was reimbursed on departure. The reception staff member lives on site & if there was a problem we knew where we could find them even out of office hours. Nice, friendly & relaxed was our reception experience. Check in is normally 1700 however with a young child check in is given earlier in the day if the apartments are ready. A good tip, ask on booking if earlier check in will be granted to not have to wait all day. Expenses per person per week (additional to the rental price of the apartment) are for electricity, gas and water, linen for the bathroom & bed, final cleaning on departure, TV and electronic safe. This is not for infants from ages 0 to 2 years of age. Extras that can be booked & paid for are cots with linen (or without), air conditioning, additional bed, small animals, and additional linen changes.||||APARTMENT||Our apartment was upgraded at no additional cost before arrival through reservations as part of a promotion. We paid for a garden view room & were given a water view 1st floor apartment at no extra cost. There are only stairs to access a first floor apartment and from the car park there are ramps with only one or two stairs. There is the option to pay 50 euro additional a week for the use of a dishwasher and washing machine which we did take advantage of. There was linen provided on arrival (however not replaced so one needs to wash it) and first supply only of toilet paper. For these apartments they operate that one needs to clean the apartment during the stay as not serviced daily. On departure, the kitchen area needs to be left clean as found on check-in, if it is not left clean 28 euro is charged. The rest of the apartment is cleaned by the staff. A broom, bucket, dust pan are provided however the mop cloth is not as well as detergents etc that one would need to buy or take along. We had a good size one bedroom apartment with good space & storage. There was an electronic safe. The bedroom had a queen size bed, good cupboard space, and en-suite bathroom (bidet, WC, basin & shower with curtain). Good water pressure & hot water supply. We also had a 2nd bathroom with a shower, WC, basin & the washing machine. There was a couch (sofa bed – ideal if travelling with 3rd person or young children), TV (local channels as well as an English & German one), fridge, gas stove, and good supply of cutlery, crockery & pots/pans. The balcony had a clothes line stand & a wooden table setting to sit out and enjoy the views, sun & meals. From our balcony facing the water the gardens were wild with cactus and other plants. ||||FACILITIES||The facilities is the car park & on site management. There isn’t a pool (like pictured in a small photo on the website) however it is planned to be built in the coming years. There is use of a nearby one (as featured in the photo) with payment required. Open only for high season. The Marinella Beach (Spiaggia di Marinella) is a few minutes’ walk away and is cleaned for the season each April. From March, not associated with these apartments the bar is open at the port that also opens the restaurant for the season from April serving such dishes as pizza, seafood, pasta with reasonable prices. Also a mini-market, other restaurants, hair dresser, gift shop that opens for the season. There is a nice small marina to walk around as well as the church and little square.||||AREA||Golfo di Marinella was the ideal base for us to enjoy Costa Smeralda for another stay. Porto Rotondo is only minutes away (taking the short drive from Golfo di Marinella). Golfo Arnaci is a short drive away, where ferries arrive and a small port town. Further up the Costa Smeralda one can enjoy Porto Cervo, Portisco, Baia Sardinia, Cannigione, Palau, Isola Maddalena & Isola dei Gabbiani, to name a few places. It is worth driving to visit these areas as each offers its own charm & appeal. As we had a car we drove the short ten minutes to Olbia, taking the first exit right to the big shopping centre that has the supermarkets LD, Eurospin & Standa as well as other shops. It was worth the drive for the choice,...
Read moreWe booked our holiday at Le Corti Di Marinella in Sardinia with Voyage Privè expecting a high standard of accommodation and comfort but received neither!||The location was quite remote so you definitely need to hire a car, which is whole different experience worthy of its own review....||The location was not very clean and there was a general problem with littering everywhere.||The apartment was very basic, old fashioned and in need of modernisation. The kitchen was very old and had limited items for preparing food and cooking. There was also no kettle, oven or microwave, so we had to cook everything on the gas hob. The lounge had a sofa bed which again was old and not particularly clean. The small portable TV only had three channels and the reception was poor. There was also only wifi available in the reception lobby, so it's not very practical if you want to plan your days on the internet or contact people. However, the guy on reception was very helpful and knowledgeable and made some great recommendations.||The large balcony was a positive aspect, although it was in the shade all day, so not great to sit out there. There were also pigeons in the wooden eaves, which were very annoying, with excrement everywhere! ||The main bedroom at the front of the apartment had extremely squeaky windows in the wind at night time, so it was really difficult to sleep. ||The bathroom was also basic and the water a slight shade of brown, although the water was always hot and the shower was pretty powerful.||Despite our disappointment with the accommodation and location we did get out exploring the northern part of Sardinia and there are some beautiful places. It's a shame so many people feel it's acceptable to leave their rubbish everywhere, which really spoils the countryside, but otherwise it's very beautiful and the beaches are...
Read moreWe booked an apartment at Le Corti di Marinella, never again! On the website they use photos of another residence, but from the same chain. Once we arrived at 10 pm, reception closed, had to call a staffmember to give us the keys. Apartment was very old looking, dirty, "garden" view was just some bushes, garbage lying around. When we entered, there was just 1 small roll of toiletpaper with maybe 10 sheets left, so we had to be careful when going to the toilet and bought ourselves a pack next day. We booked through Expdedia a "deluxe" apartment...well not so deluxe at all, it only means that it is a bit bigger, we were only 2 adults. Staff was only 1 guy, after 8 days we asked if there was a bed/towel change any day, so only 1 day later we got a "bag" with clean sheets/towels, in front of the door, so we could change everything our selves. Location is ok, Marinella beach near, but absurd prices for a sunbed, 52 euro per person, but at the apartments there was also a small more quiet beach, 2 beds for 20 eur for a whole day. The island is very nice, beautiful beaches/nature, but no more Sardegna for us. People not too friendly, waitress in a pizzeria serving us wine, while chewing her chewinggum?? Not even saying goodbye when you leave? I would not recommend this...
