Residence Borgo Punta Villa — Hotel in La Maddalena

My wife and I just did a 5 night stay and we enjoyed it tremendously, thanks very much to a wonderful resort up in the hills, and the warmth and generosity of the resort team working in tandem.||||Arriving by ferry from Palau, we were picked up by Giuseppe, possibly one of the bosses of the resort, at the port as we did not rent a car.||At the residence, we were warmly greeted with hugs and kisses by Valeria. ||||After that it was the sisters' team of Laura and Loredana(Lory) who took care of us for our stay. Actually Laura is Lory's mum but she is so young and energetic who can tell the difference!||||We got a better apartment than the one we booked for, with a lovely big terrace to have breakfast in.||||Lory and Laura also insisted that we visit the islands off La Maddalena, as they were gems according to them. Laura even drove us on 2 occasions to the port to take the boats to Isola Spargi and Isola Santa Maria, and got the boat men to send us beck to the residence, at no further cost!||||Wonderful service!||||And thank God for their insistence in visiting the islands. They were some of the most sublime beaches that we have ever visited - Cala Granara, and Cala Santa Maria - soft white powdery sand, lovely clear crystallized water and with a lovely woody backdrop to complete the picture!||||It has been a wonderful privilege to have the acquaintance of such a lovely team of people, and there is no reason why we would not want to come back and stay again at Residence...

We stayed at the Borgo Punta Villa for 2 weeks last July and had a great time there. The appartments are quite big, very clean and well decorated. They all have a balcony and are fully furnished with what you would need for a short stay.||Laura and Loredana were ohhhh so nice and helpful. We had nice long talks with them, and they always recommended nice spots (beaches, restaurants etc). We were very happy with our stay and would definitely go back. We had rented a one bedroom appartment but they upgraded us to a 2 bedroom since there were still some available. Top notch service!||The compound is (almost) brand new. Now you absolutely need a car to stay there as it's not in the center (free parking available).||The only things we didn't like were:||1/ the surroundings. The place is very nice and new but the road to get there will have you destroy your car. Also, the center is not available by foot, neither is the beach. As stated before, you'll need a car to get around. ||2/ the laundry service. Non-existant, unpractical, expensive. Save your dirty laundry for when you get home||3/ the internet service. Connection only available around the reception area, but it was terrible and wouldn't work half the time. They should upgrade it and make the wifi available throughout the residence or at least fix it so it works better||||We recommend...

This is a lovely place to stay with the most beautiful beaches nearby. It's well kept with nice flowers everywhere. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful - making us feel very welcome. The La Maddalena islands are a paradise and from the villa it is very easy to reach the beaches either by car or on a boat trip to some of the other islands secluded beauty spots. Although we had a car, we noticed that there were plenty of buses and stops if needed.||There are adequate facilities in the apartment to eat in or plenty of restaurants to chose from if you don't want to cook (some of these we will review seperately). We would definitely recommend Borgo Punta Villa and we hope to visit...
