We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant and unfortunately cannot recommend it to anyone who values basic courtesy and respectful service. We arrived at 6:30 p.m., knowing the restaurant opened at 7:00 p.m., and politely asked an employee if it was possible to wait. She told us that all indoor tables were already occupied (despite the restaurant not being open yet) but that all the outdoor tables were free and we could choose one. So we waited patiently for half an hour, then selected a table outside as we were told we could. Soon after sitting down, another staff member approached us in a very unfriendly and confrontational manner. Instead of greeting us or asking what we needed, she immediately demanded that we have to change our seats, claiming we had just seated ourselves without permission. When we calmly explained that we had already spoken to another employee who told us it was fine, she insisted that it didn’t matter because we hadn’t asked her. She showed no interest in listening or resolving the situation, only in accusing us. We were shocked by how we were treated. There was no apology, no attempt to clarify the misunderstanding—just hostility and a clear lack of professionalism. Being spoken to like that after simply following instructions is unacceptable. There are many restaurants that not only serve good food but also treat their guests with kindness and respect. This is not...
Read moreMe and my partner went to this restaurant because it was closely located to our Airbnb and it had a good ranking and reviews. Unfortunately, the food didn’t approve our expectations at all. I had traditional fregola and it was just ok, nothing special. For my taste pasta had a lack of flavours and juiciness. It was simply pasta with small oil-baked pieces of aubergine and sausage with cheese on top. No sauce, too dry. My partner had grilled meat and he only liked the sausage. The famous pork was the most disappointing. It was just a piece of fat with no meat at all. Different from what we saw as traditional Sardinian pork.
This place is way overrated and also overpriced. U Campu Du Pastori was our last restaurant to visit on la Maddalena island, so I have right to compare. For example, a few days ago we had pasta for the same amount of money on this island and it was delicious, a huge portion and was overloaded with good quality seafood.
I would give a higher score, but unfortunately, the service was also sad. Very long waiting time for drinks and the bill.

Read moreWe always come here when in Maddalena, booking in advance is strongly recommended especially if you are 4 or more. Must try: Porcetto Sardo, they do it only in specific days (Mondays, Wednesday, Friday I think), and you must specify how many portions you want when booking. One portion (28€) is enough for two persons, but order an extra portion of fries as the fries that come with the piglet are not enough. We booked for 21:00, but place was packed, we waited for 15min, then were sited, then we ordered and had to wait a bit for the wine and food to come. Service was a bit chaotic, the restaurant extended and I think they were overloaded, the main person excused himself several times, but it kind of took away from the experience. I would still recommend it strongly, the food is worth it, I hope the service can be improved somehow. At the end, to excuse they offered us mirto and limoncello, plus an 10% discount on the bill, which is very nice. So all in all, book in advance, do not go very hungry and enjoy the food. Edit: I put back the 5* as there is a specific service rating which gave...
