It is fine for what it is. The prices are good and you have a beach of sand and thankfully not gravel to enjoy the lake. It is best noted that after season the lake might be a bit cold to properly enjoy, as are the slides and a few pools.
The beds are a bit...lackluster. My brother and father are overweight and those beds aren't surviving. Something at the refrigerator was broken and one of the thin planks in the bed of my brother was replaced with a whole big bed-sized plank, so that was good. It seems though for the bed of my father, they forgot about it, but he fixed it himself with some belts for securing luggage.
The gym is nice as is the heated pool next to it and I enjoyed my days training and then afterwards relaxing there. 32° Celsius is warm enough, but it could be a lot warmer. Though that is the warmest pool there is sadly. The sauna...is a bust. Yes, there is one there with the gym and heated pool, but you have to pay 14 Euros for 15 minutes. I could hardly believe my ears. Seemingly you have to reserve it and they have to heat it 2 hours in advance, meaning it is rarely if ever used. It would be better if La Quercia got some solar panels and let the sauna run over the day. It would greatly improve the experience.
A problem is that slides and the gym are closed from 13 to 15 o' clock, showing there is seemingly not enough staff at hand. Not to mention at some point you couldn't buy pizza from 14 to 18 o' clock either.
The pizza is good, albeit too expensive. One time I asked for my brother for extra ham on a pizza with parma ham. He told me the price, but then took too much money from me. That is when I found out he noted extra parma ham instead of regular ham. I cancelled the extra ham for my brother, because it was more expensive when what I had asked for and then I was given not enough change back and had to again ask for things to be made right. It was an unpleasant experience, showing that it might be best not to put extra ingredients on the pizza.
Also, there is a 2 Euro fee for cutlery if you eat there and not go for the take-away option. I heard this might be common, but seems more like a scam as it isn't like you are buying the cutlery, but only lending it for the duration of the meal.
But let's try a few more positive spins too. There are some fields for sports as well as mini golf to sweeten the vacation. For families with kids they do have shows too in the evening. Nothing that interests me, but it should be noted for those that value it.
Either way, La Quercia is fine for what it is. A nice enough place to stay, but I wouldn't call it anything special either. You could have a lot of fun depending on your...
Read moreBeautiful camping with a great variation of trees, shrubs and flowers. Sanitary facilities are modern, clean and spacious, with washing machine and dryer in every building. The staff is friendly and helpful, guard the pool and every entrance to the camping, clean up the mess after a thunder storm, collect everyone's garbage every day and even check for silence after 11pm. My compliments for this!
La Quercia is located right at the shore of the garda lake. There's a large private sand beach with a cozy bar, showers and sunbeds and several kinds of boats to rent. This is a huge plus for this camping, since the shores of the lake are rocks and stones elsewhere. Of course there are also several swimming pools, which are nice and clean. Sunbeds are plenty, we always found free ones when we arrived at the pool. There are several water slides, but the seams between the pieces hurt our back so we didn't enjoy them.
The stores at the camping have almost everything you need, including fresh bread. It would be nice if they showed the prices at every article though; now it's not clear how much everything costs. It's also annoying that the stores close at 12:30pm, exactly the moment when eveyone comes back to the camping to have lunch. We didn't eat at any of the restaurants, but we enjoyed the delicious ice cream at the pool.
There are lots of opportunities for sports on the camping: padel, tennis, football, aqua gym, minigolf and there's a great (and free!) fitness room. Other activities for every age are spread throughout the day, but we were disappointed with the animation in the evening. While the parties on monday are incredible (free beer, silent disco, fireworks... well done guys!), EVERY other night there's only a Disney musical. We really don't like musicals so there wasn't anything to do for us.
We stayed at one of the the prestige tents because we wanted to try out "glamping". These tents are big and offer lots of luxury, like tv, dishwasher and airconditioning. Enjoying this concept is very weather dependent. It's amazing to open the front part of the tent and cook/eat with view on the Garda lake. When it's raining however, you have no place to eat because the canvas touches the front part of the kitchen island where the chairs are. Also, be aware that you hear every sound at night (which is true for every tent to be honest) and the airconditioning doesn't blow at the upper sleeping area. The latter was solved by the staff by giving us...
Read moreThis camping gave us, as a family, an unforgettable time.
Not only because we had a nice space for our caravan with more than enough shade, and m2's, but especially because of the superb animation team!
The swimming pool with his 3 big water slides is good enough for the kids. If I was in the management, this pool would be the next on my list for updating.
The toilets and showers were good! The building was replaced last year, so it all looked nice. The separate papers on the wc give comfort, but often papers drop on the floor when getting them out of the holder, and people let those laying on the floor which looks not neat. Also why not putting a floor wiper in every shower so people can dry the floor by them self? I have seen this often and it really helps.
The sand beach is great! Is this owned by LaQuercia? If so: identify people by the wrist band so no other people are crowding this beach.
Back to the animation team: the shows are really great! But especially how they are involved with the kids, not only in the shows but also with the activities and even when they had a day off, they still chatted with the children on a nice enthusiastic way. They gave our kids such a special feeling during the holiday!! It was superb! Big compliments!
The price of this camping is becoming higher and higher every year, on a pace which doesn't comply with the inflation. A cola €4/5, a local draft beer €4/5, and so on. Also the emplacements are price wise increasing fast. The grossary store is crazy. Some products are at least 300% more expensive than Lidl, which is situated nearby the camping. The management should aim on maybe some less profit, and keep the camping price wise competing enough with the rest.
The restaurant, because of the great shows, is every evening fully booked (because you have a table with good view on this show) but the personnel is not really up to this amount of people. Food arrives not at the same time at the table. My wife was finished before I got my (almost cold) order. The kids got there pizzas somewhere in between. (That pizzas don't arrive at the same time as the rest is communicated by personnel, but I expect to eat at the same time as my wife). This is continuously the case. Also drinks are or smaller, or pricier at the table then ordering those by yourself at the bar ( which is quicker than the personnel)
I ate not bad, but if it wasn't for the shows, I think that this restaurant was in more urge to...
