Just home from a very nice stay in Camping Village Du Parc.
As a family of 4 with 2 young kids, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
There are some great features to the site.
Good :
The pool area is amazing and probably the best we have experienced in our many stays on various sites in Lakw Garda.
The accessibility to Lazise, even with a stroller we could get from our mobile to Lazise town centre in 7 minutes walking.
The lake front. Outside on the campsites lake front there are great swimming areas and plentiful water activities.
Bad :
No kettle or toaster in the mobile. We felt these 2 items would be a great addition especially when it is a self catering camping style stay.
The last part of the walk along the lake before you get to the paved pathway between shrubs is extremely dark and full of loose gravel. This made it very difficult when dark to push a stroller and also mind our other child from wandering into the lake (although shallow). While this is nothing the site can fix themselves, it definitely is a negative to the site stay.
We do however want to make our feelings known on a very disappointing experience when checking out. Check out is at 10am. While we were clearing out the mobile and waiting on assistant with our bags, the next family moving into our mobile were standing outside our decking area staring at us putting us under pressure. The women of the family continuously checked her watch and made sure it was visible to us each time we came outside. This was at 9.45 before we even checked out, while also mentioning the mobile needed the cleaners to come in obviously as we hadn't even left. They moved around us as we packed, sitting on another opposite decking of an empty mobile home.
This situation was explained to reception, we weren't pleased at all with their response. Although we agree if people arrive early to the site they should be allowed use of the facilities like the pool etc. We do not agree that they should be allowed stand outside the mobile of the family checking out constantly making them feel uncomfortable as we tries to shower and dress. The mobile needed to be cleaned, we still had the key. The site guarantees you the key to your mobile before 4pm, but to have a family staring at us waiting for us to leave at 9.45 and parked outside our windows is extremely poor and disappointing. This put a very sour taste on our stay especially as it was when we were leaving and had enjoyed...
Read moreThe location of this campground couldn't be better. It's less than 5 minutes from the Lazise ruins.||||The fact it has gates that are open with the a RFID bracelet is also a plus.||||The animation team is great and the options quite good as well. That's without a doubt the best part of the campground.||||The pool is ok. The slide could have a bigger initial drop since my daughter and I were both getting stuck and having to push ourselves all the way up to the final drop.||||The staff were nice but doesn't seem to communicate well since:||1- We ask not to have our private bathroom cleaned on certain days but they did even though the receptionist told us they wouldn't. We had to create our own signs to solve this problem (Thanks Google Translator)||2- We called to complain about a group smoking marijuana one night in an area were kids go through all the time (mini market) but we smelt marijuana on the next 2 days, until the group when away.||||The worst though, and truth be told seemed like we got the worst street and pitch areas, our pitch had a steep incline which made us slide down several times during the night in our tent. It would probably not be a problem with a camper van but with tents it was horrible. Plus, due to the rain and lack of grass, our pitch became a mud fest. ||||Also, since the street was small and our front neighbors parked a bit into the street (their pitch area was also small) it became extremely hard to park our cars.||||Leveling the pitches and making sure staff communicate well with each other and cops would make the campground amazing. Too bad, it isn't...
Read moreFantastic location right next to the entrance to Lazise and the beach. The site is on a very steep hill with the pool at the top and the beach at the bottom. The pitches are quite tight although nicely shaded. There is a well stocked shop and the toilet facilities are extremely clean and there are a lot of them. My lowish rating comes from the attitude of the reception staff. Having spoken to them several times (speaking with a fluent English speaker each time), explaining that we were 3 adults and 2 dogs, I received a quote and based on that booked our stay. On checking out it seems that the quote was only for 2 adults and I was given an extra bill, which was half as much again. Rather than being apologetic or even polite, the receptionist was extremely rude and said that it was all my fault as I can't expect them to understand as they are not English. I would suggest to everyone that they do not rely on speaking to reception staff but that they email the details of their party in order to get a quote. Unfortunately, the rudeness of this particular member of staff is what stays with me when I think about our stay here. Unfortunate, as otherwise...
