Just got back from a 5 day stay at the residence le balze in lake Garda Italy. ||||On arrival we were checked in by a lady who seemed OK. Not overly friendly but ok. ||Shown to our rooms. They we're self catering apartments. But not even a toilet roll was available for us for our late arrival||||And no shops avaliable after 7.30 we were told so everyone had to wait til morning for Loo roll. . ||Had a shower (cold as hot water was hit and miss). Got out of the shower and slipped on the wet tiles as nothing down to step on. ||Eventually after complaining Mats were brought round. ||||||We were a few families staying with children and were told no food or drink around the pool. ||||No where to put our rubbish. ||We had to walk down the mountain to the rubbish bins every day which were on the main road and not easily accessible. ||||||We weren't asked on check in if we would like sheets. But were charged per bed even though we hadn't used their sheets. ||||We went to check out and were told cash only. ||||This wasn't mentioned once the whole 5 days of being there. ||They didn't have a card machine. So card couldn't be used. ||||We tried to do a bank transfer but the international sort codes are different. ||||Our bill was €260 more than our email us originally said it would cost. ||||The rooms came to €1500. Which we just didn't have on us in cash. ||||So having to stress out when we're waiting to go to the airport trying to get together enough cash to pay for our check out. ||||Every time one of the children walked outside they were glared at by Gabrielle.(not sure if name) ||||Sonia was ok but Gabrielle was miserable and very rude to us all upon check out and during our stay. ||||Would defiantly not...
Read moreMy partner, our 3 girls and I stayed in Residence le Balze in August this year and had the most fabuolous holiday! The apartments were clean and very nice. The view was amazing!!! What made our holiday though was the lovely lady Graziella who looked after us the whole time we were there. ||||We read a couple of reviews before we arrived and i have to admit we were a bit worried. We were wrong to worry, Graziella could not have been more welcoming or helpful to us throughout our whole stay (2 weeks) She made sure we had everything we needed and even offered to fetch supplies for us from the local supermarket. ||||We had a buggy and the hill was quite steep but we didn't mind, the excercise was good after all the lovely food we enjoyed in Malcesine and if we ever got stuck with bags etc. we could call Graziella and she would help us with the shopping :)||||There was a great tourist bus service (Scheduled every hour) which took us to the centre of Malcesine most evenings.||||The pool at Residence le Balze was great for our girls and they spent a lot of time there! We liked to walk down to the bottom of the hill (about 5 mins max.) and go for a swim by the lake. It really was beautiful and i would recommend to anyone!||||Want to go back as soon...
Read moreWe stayed at this place for 5 days. The kitchenette had almost all the utensils. Although as per the website wifi is only available in the public areas but we were lucky to have it in the room too:). I think they should have an elevator as there are too many steps and it was difficult for us bring the luggage to the room. Stay was comfortable and the room was ok. Although paying extra for bed linen was annoying which included nothing much but 2 pillows and three really thin cotton white bedsheets which were not ideal for the evening cold weather. However the lady at the reception was very helpful. We also got a table fan on request as one of the days was really warm. Another thing which could improve is the hot water in the apartment as it is only there for limited time from 8-10 am and from 5-8 pm in a day which was a bit of a problem as you could only use warm water during these timings. Also I think the room should have more closets. The location of the property is quite high on a hill top so please see it in on the map before you book it. However it's very quite and one gets really good view of Lake Garda. Supermarket, hospital and bus station for tourist bus...
