Villa Kete Deluxe Room in Sicily — Hotel in Palma di Montechiaro

I did not need to wait a long time to understand how little customer care I would get from this experience. I have been very disappointed by the levels of commercial sense and customer consideration. Planning a travel can put you in contact with hosts and these interactions can unveil the hearts behind the faces: this is definitely part of a travel experience. My story happened one month before the day we should have checked in. It all started with a strange mistake: 9-12 July were booked instead of 9-12 August 2017. As I only realised about this issue the morning of the 2nd day, the first night was already lost (paid although not used) and I accepted it. The 3rd night was automatically reimbursed by the travel agency (cancellation policy). So I contacted the host in order to ask for the reimbursement of the 2nd night that had not passed yet: we would obviously not be able to sleep there (our travel was planned one month later) and I still wanted to book the 3 new nights in August at Villa Kete (loyalty). Although the room was still available (via 2 agencies), the host answered pretty dryly that they would not reimburse me, the case was closed and I should not bother them anymore. The "cherry on our cake" came when afterwards, they put pressure on us to book the nights of August by a certain time or the "opportunity" would be lost. We obviously never responded and actually thought that we deserved a bit more respect and common sense after having paid 2 nights at 170 euros each for a room we did not use (first-time experience). So as far as I'm concerned, I will avoid Villa Kete at all costs. As they have just started in the hosting business, we could not find any review at the time and only relied on the nice pictures of Villa Kete. We eventually paid a high price for our choice. It is our duty to share our story now. According to us at least, not matter how many stars an accommodation has, their hosts must be customer-oriented from the first interactions with customers. Failing to do that is a bad sign of how holidays could turn out to be and holidays are too important for us to be ruined. Our experience would have been different if the booking was right from the start of course but there is a saying by Joseph Kennedy that is relevant to our story: "when the going gets tough, the tough get going". I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming hotel that truly exceeded my expectations, thanks to its exceptional host, Sabrina, and warm atmosphere. Am holprigen Weg zur Villa Kete glaubt man anfangs gar nicht, welches Kleinod sich hinter den hohen Hecken und Gittertoren verbirgt. Eine prächtige Villa, eher fast eine Residenz, die in liebevoller und jahrelanger Kleinarbeit durch die Besitzerfamilie erbaut und bis ins letzte Detail durchgedacht wurde. Die 4 verfügbaren Zimmer sind top-modern mit allen Annehmlichkeiten, die man sich nur vorstellen kann. Der Pool und die Gartenlandschaft sind eine Pracht - mit herrlichem Blick über die gesamte Bucht von Marina di Palma. Viele kleine Sitz- und Liegebereiche verhindern, dass man sich mit anderen Gästen in die Quere kommen muss, wenn man es nicht will und ermöglichen es, dass man sich angenehm in die Quere kommen kann, wenn man es doch will. ||||Der obere Bereich wird von dem Erbauer der Villa selbst bewohnt, er ist unaufdringlich und man hat nicht den Eindruck, Eindringling in seinem Reich zu sein, kann sich aber auch jederzeit in interessante Gespräche über die Gegend, die Kunst, Geschichte und allerlei andere Dinge mit ihm vertiefen, wenn man das möchte. Oder einfach nur Ausflugstipps abholen. Oder auch einfach seine Ruhe haben.||||Wir nächtigten drei Nächte in der Suite Satureja, die mit einem schönen Balkon und großer Fensterfläche Richtung Berg weist und komplett neu ist. Das Bad ist auf höchstem europäischen Standard, mit toller Regendusche. Die Klimaanlage ist angenehm leise und wirkungsvoll, auch wenn man ohnehin lieber mit geöffneter Balkontüre (und geschlossener Mückentüre) schläft. Der Raum ist sehr großzügig und wird durch eine Trennwand unterbrochen, die Sitzbereich und Schlafbereich voneinander trennt. Das Bett selbst ist ein Doppelbett mit durchgehender Matratze (Boxspring?) und man hat eine Polsterauswahl inkl. Gelpolster.||||Zum Frühstück sind keine Wünsche offen geblieben. Die herzliche deutschsprachige Bedienerin nimmt Extrawünsche für den nächsten Tag gerne auf und bereitet alles zu, was man möchte. Die Frühstücksterrasse in der Morgensonne ist herrlich.||||Wer Meerblick beim Zimmer erwartet, wird ihn hier zwar nicht finden - alle Gästezimmer sind landeinwärts gerichtet. Aber die großzügige sehr hochwertige Pool- und Gartenlandschaft mit traumhaften Meerblick über die gesamte Bucht, lässt den fehlenden Meerblick aus dem Zimmer sofort völlig vergessen.||||Zum Abschluss: Warum ich hier so euphorisch schreibe, ist, weil ich in den letzten Jahren nur sehr selten auf ein so wundervolles Urlaubsdomizil gestoßen bin, das ich so absolut uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen kann, wie die Villa Kete.
