Il Poggio di Tropea — Hotel in Parghelia

NO INTERNET. RESTAURANT SUCKED.||||Was bad.||||Although it should be an apparthotel 'all included "light"' option.||||The receptionists didn't dominated english properly. Actually nearly noone did, not the recepcionist, not the restaurant, not the bar, the animation team did try...||The appartament didn't have drinkable water. Actually it was only possible to get drinkable water without paying, in a filter on the swimming pool bar...not always open.||Still any drink aside tap water or wine, you had to pay, didn't matter you had a AI, unless you trusted juices from not official marks that they served on glass from open bottles, you payed everything.||||They never replaced shampoo nor soap. Never.||The room was outdated, and some forniture was falling appart.||||For the swimming pool you had to use a cap. It was mandatory. No exceptions. But full bearded guys, bald, with no cap was ok.||||About the internet, apparently it exists by the reception, where you can try to seat on some chairs, OUTSIDE, under the sun, and try to use the poor wifi connections, we tryed and never made it. As far as we knew, there was no connection in the appartments, at least for sure in our room.||||And the worst of all was the restaurant.||The food was of really poor quality. Many times it was just pasta with tomato sauce, and pasta with something else and tomato sauce. Saw a "risotto" only twice in a week, and was disapointing. Very poor tasting.||WORST OF ALL: it was very clear that they would adapt food from previous meals into the next meal like: salmon for dinner, lunch next day had this really big salmon salad!||More than once the smell of the salad table proved the food wasn't good anymore!||Many times there were cakes covered with creams, that were bad to eat because of the heat.||The salad table was not refrigerated, and food went bad a lot.||The breakfast was the same: the bread was always hard as a rock, the milk went bad and smelled because it was not refrigerated, yogurts did too.||For fried foods, they were clearly low quality bought, like those you buy on supermarket, not for restaurant level, yet were the 'best'...

We had a really lovely stay at this hotel. The rooms were very clean (although dated and could use some attention - there were a few visible wires, loose plug sockets, and holes in our walls). The food was authentic and fresh, and the view was stunning. It would have been helpful for the food to have allergens on labels. The free shuttle bus to and from the beach was a great service. There was an expansive drinks menu, and we arranged our airport return transfer through the hotel which was fairly priced and easy. The pool was a lovely temperature and not too deep, although it should say online (or in a pre-arrival email) that swimming caps are mandatory as this is an unusual requirement for a lot of hotels. Likewise it was unusual for our passports to need to be kept at Reception overnight when we first arrived - we weren’t told about this until we got there and we felt uncomfortable with them being left on a shelf behind Reception which was not secure. The hotel is well located for a day trip to Tropea, which we travelled to by train from Parghelia station. No wifi available in rooms. The staff were all lovely and communicated well, even though there were very few English guests other than ourselves. A few tips - bring your own reusable cup for soft drinks, as the plastic cups they give you at the bar are tiny and not eco-friendly. Also, if going to the train station, ask staff to direct you to the route which avoids crossing the main road. Instructions for using the pre-payment card to buy drinks and snacks at the bar were unclear and we were told different things by bar and reception staff. Overall, we would absolutely recommend this hotel for a relaxing...

Soggiorno piacevole..è stato come sentirsi a casa, sono stato circa due settimane e siamo stati molto bene. Commenti per area: ANIMAZIONE 8 Formata in gran parte da animatori giovani, dotati di tanta buona volontà e spirito di iniziativa.Cercano di coinvolgerti nei vari giochi ma senza mai essere invadenti.Gli spettacoli serali sono privi di effetti speciali, ma con poco riescono a darti davvero tanto...con il loro calore e simpatia si è riso tanto. Voto 10 al capovillaggio:Gerry!Una persona eccezionale che si prende cura del cliente e dei suoi ragazzi e te ne accorgi dalle sue mille attività, anche quelle più umili, come fare lo zucchero filato, truccare i bambini per il flou party, sparare il cannone dello schiuma party e contemporaneamente fare lo speaker..organizzare le escursione in barca...insomma mi fermo qua.E poi la sera negli spettacoli gli basta avere un microfono per tenere compagnia con battute, racconti, giochi e scenette...veramente bravo.Apprezzamenti particolari vanno anche a Rossella, sua moglie, che in qualche serata ha deliziato il pubblico con le sue eccezionali doti artistiche affiancando Gerry in qualche scketch da far scompisciare. LOCATION 9 Posizione ottima in quanto è a pochi km da Tropea e a 15 minuti a piedi da Parghelia e la sua stazione ferroviaria. Oltre alla spiaggia in cui ti porta la navetta,dall'intenro del villaggio puoi scendere,tramite 220 gradini,o alla spiaggia della Pizzuta (scogli) o la famosa spiaggia di Michelino. Panorama splendido da cui al tramonto si può godere la vista di Stromboli. RISTORANTE 6 Personale gentile e paziente, voto 8.Complimenti a Marika per la sua simpatia, grazie a lei l'attesa dei primi era più leggera. Primi piatti buoni, cucinati bene, sempre al dente. I contorni/antipasti erano quasi sempre gli stessi. I secondi non li ho graditi molto in quanto spesso o erano presenti prodotti industriali(es. bastoncini, filetti impanati) o pesci meno pregiati (marlin, lampuga..).Colazione buona, ma anche qui sempre le stesse torte...variare non sarebbe stato male. Non condivido la scelta di lasciare il compito ai camerieri di portare l'acqua/vino, sarebbe stato più efficiente lasciare il compito a noi. CAMERE 6,5 I mini appartamenti sono ampi per accogliere 4 persone e soprattutto freschi in quanto sono stati disposti in modo tale da avere la luce solare ma non diretta. Andrebbero sistemate un pò di cose, es. un pò di umidità negli appartamenti a piano terra, climatizzatore (perdeva acqua) , doccino (vecchiotto) , frigorifero (un bel pò rumoroso), areatore nel bagno (molto sporco e un pò smontato). SERVIZIO PULIZIA 9 E' uno dei compiti più delicati e pesanti ed il personale lo ha svolto ogni mattina con discrezione, in silenzio e con il sorriso. Piccolo appunto: non sempre trovavo il terrazzino spazzato, ma davvero piccolo neo. BAR 5: Personale ok, ma voto basso per la decisione di aver messo l'erogatore di bevande della formula all-inclusive dietro al bancone costringendoti a chiedere al personale ogni volta anche solo un bicchiere d'acqua causando quasi sempre un pò di attesa se stavano preparando caffè, aperitivi o cocktail. Altro voto basso è dovuta alla mancanza di qualche ombrellone grande per coprire i tavoli...un vero peccato non aver creato delle zone d'ombra affidandosi solo alla gazebo. PISCINA 5,5: Un pò piccola quando il villaggio e calda di pomeriggio perchè sempre esposta al sole.Grande merito al bagnino che con immensa pazienza e discrezione cercava di far indossare le cuffie a tutti e di farci uscire alle 19 dall'acqua. SERVIZIO SPIAGGIA 4:non ci siamo proprio.Le navette non possono essere attive solo in certe fasce, dovrebbero essere attive 9-13 15-19..così bisognava fare le rincorse..e dopo un anno di lavoro..in vacanza proprio non è il caso! Spiaggia molto bella, ampia, mare bellissimo, sdraio e ombrelloni a volontà, ma il voto è basso per due motivi: 1)lido con soli ombrelloni e senza un bar in cui poter usufruire l'all-inclusive. 2)lido condiviso con altro villaggio e non c'era la...
