wow, we came here the first night after a long drive from vieste. (it was the only restaurant open on sunday night on the main street. so take note if you are hungry and come here. it is also one of the few places that stay open during siesta time. hard working people.) my husband ordered the spaghetti with clams and he loved it.i ordered eggplant parmigiana with swordfish. it was ok as it was not very hot.today we came back for lunch and we ordered insalata tropeana. big portion of very fresh cucumber, lettuce and red onion. and i ordered this local dish (i cannot say it in italian as the name of the salami is very exotic) it is local pasta made with spicy salami and grilled eggplant bits. it was beautiful to look at; and the explosion of flavor is to die for. i kept making "umm" sound as i could not believe how good it is. it is different, and it is so good.i have been traveling to italy since 2000, and southern italy for the past 5.i have had so many pasta dishes, and i immediately told my husband this is now one of my favorites: it is different (i love pasta with sea food but you get there every where in italy), it is simple yet packed with flavor (like the best made spaghetti con aglio, olio e peperoncino!) i come back just for this dish! Read moreI am writing this note in good faith not to harm. I hope this restaurant consider this as help and change some things. The restaurant has nice place. It looks very expensive so we had good feelings. They gave us very soon foccacia- it wasn’t so bad. After this starter finally they gave us our beers- little bit too late 😅 After that we get big salad for 14€ in this price we expected something magical but it was few ingredients mix in one big bowl and nothing more, no flavour, no taste, nothing. And then we get our pasta. Mine wasn’t that bad, it was pasta with creme and fish. But my girlfriend ordered gnocchi and that was a catastrophe. They put cold gnocchi on a plate, then tomato sauce and on the top mozzarella (but it supposte to be parmesan) and put this 3 ingredients to the microwave. Hot on the sides and completely cold inside. No taste at all, completely nothing and this cold. We didn't have a reservation so my husband asked the waiter if there were free tables, he replied to ask the next person, and the next one to the next person from the service. Wooow! The third waiter in turn said we could sit inside. After giving the card, you could hear only dead silence and the sound of the bell for the waiters very annoying.
