The location is super nice, perfect when you expect a relaxing weekend on the pool, our rooms were also very clean. However not with kids, we have struggled a lot with the hosts especially the lady as she was very strict with her rules and always watching over our shoulders. A simple activity such as going in the pool was extremely stressful for whole our family. We have just wanted to have a relaxing week and we have ended up being very uncomfortable, feeling not welcomed and leaving the place very stressed. That is a lot, especially for the price you pay. I would like to add also that we have paid for both our kids and we have notified they age. I do not know what was expected by the owners but they are kids. Playing, laughing and touching everything. Sometimes crying and shouting . The owner came to us the first day and has ordered that it is forbidden to use crayons inside rooms ... of course they left one spot on the bed coverage. But common ! It is all washable. But airconditioning was leaking all week and it was not the problem for anyone - the service came when we were leaving...|Generally, my kids were treated very arrogant. It was very unpleasant for us as parents . We have travelled a lot but I have never seen and felt something like this. Kids were given only plastic plates and glasses and no forks or spoons during breakfast. They are 3 and 7. My son was so stressed that vomited first night. We were too scared to call the personnel to help us with this problem that we did all by ourselves and washed the towel trying to hide spots .... it is the story about the great atmosphere of the place. And about famous aperitivo with owners - all couples in the hotel were invited except us... it was so rude that even I can...
Read moreA beautiful Italian villa in an idyllic setting spoiled by its manic owners and their horrible service. ||||I attended my friends' wedding at Masseria Almadava and, upon first impression, I was amazed by the villa, the pool and the location in Puglia. This quickly erased when I encountered the owners and the very poor, almost intentionally, wicked service they provided. Firstly, it took nearly 25 minutes of ringing the buzzer in the July sun for someone to open the gate for our taxis to even enter the villa. ||||Arriving two hours ahead of the wedding to finish watching the World Cup match in one of our friends' room (the villa was booked so I stayed with others at another hotel 45 minutes away) and change into wedding attire, the husband and wife owners burst into our friends' room without knocking, shouting at us to leave our friends' room as we did not book these rooms and no guests were allowed in the villa rooms. ||||When asked where we could watch the World Cup, there was no TV or lobby available. Totally fine. But when asked where we could change into our suits for the wedding, if not in our friends' room who were guests at the villa, the only look we received from the owners was, 'Not our problem.'||||For the rest of the wedding ceremony, the villa owners were overly suspicious, outright rude to guests, especially the bride and groom, and appeared to be stalking every guest that strayed from the banquet tables (the owners live on the property). ||||I would not recommend this venue for any celebration, wedding or anniversary. An I wasn't even a guest staying at the villa--just attending...
Read moreAlessandro and Marica are simply wonderful, kind owners. They are available to help you decide on where to visit, where to eat and much more. Anything can be arranged with such personalized service. The Masseria is unbelievable, with all the added unique touches of a farm house with a modern romantic/rustic atmosphere. the grounds are surrounded by olive trees and vineyards, what a feeling it was to smell the wonderful beauty around you. I enjoyed the privacy of the location and it was quite easy to reach any sites, restaurants and beaches nearby. Masseria Almadava is so exquisite with all special named bedrooms each different from one another. My room was called the Penelope room. The breakfast house was so pleasant with all the added touches of a Masseria and a small little shop that you may want to purchase a little souvenir while you are there. the outdoor breakfast area was unbelievable, so pretty and over looking the large pool and gardens. The breakfast itself was unbelievable, everything fresh and delicious and to me it was more like a large braunch with plenty of choices. ||This was the most unbelievable stay i have ever had and will return and advise others to not miss out on such a treasure. I loved it very much! My compliments to Alessandro and Marica as it shows how dedicated they are to have guests enjoy their beautiful masterpiece. the dedication is visible and everyone should have an opportunity to experience...
