Perhaps not the most romantic hotel on Sicily – or even in Pozzallo – but certainly well located with friendly staff and great value for money. It overlooks the local piazza, where families gather at night to mingle and spend time together. The nearest, less touristy beach, is only about a three minute stroll away and the city centre about five to ten minutes away. Great places to eat really nearby – they may look touristy, but they serve absolutely exquisite Italian food, naturally leaning towards the seafood side of the diet. Not too many Sicilians speak English, but you get by knowing only a few words of Italian or Spanish and using your body language. (And the odd English word... ;-) Most people are really friendly and want to understand you. Near the main beaches (Pietre Nere and Raganzino), restaurants, pizzerias, "gelaterie" and kiosks. I was very glad because I could keep my luggages in a room after the check-out time, and enjoy the peaceful town before taking a...

Here I've found all I've always been looking for when travelling: cleanness, big rooms and comfy beds, spacious bathroom and shower, a nice hall and outdoor space with tables to relax, a rich breakfast. But the best here is the people: the owner Giovanni, honest and disposable to match your needs, and the other guys, always kind and smiling. Last but not least, the location is perfect: just a few steps off Lungomare Raganzino and via Garibaldi (main street), the road widens nearby so it's easy to park your car. Silent and safe neighbourhood. Bars and...
