Excellent place for holiday & wedding destination at lake Garda
We had been guests at the Relais Mondotella 7 times.
From the first moment we were impressed about this place. Relais Mondotella is a bit outside of Lake Garda, but easy to reach by car, in a quiet, idyllic location.
The complex is very well maintained, the rooms are stylish and very comfortably furnished. The staff is professional and friendly, regardless of the area: reception, service, breakfast room, room cleaning, even the gardener is also very helpful and, for example, opens the parasol when you come to the pool. The green areas are a pleasure for people who enjoy plants. The pool is clean (I've never seen such a clean pool). The parking lot is large and secure (gate closed at night). The restaurant offers high-quality cuisine, the support from the service is great, the price level is a bit more expensive than normal, but definitely worth the money. Everything is technically up to date. There are insect screens on every window in the rooms, even on the patio door! There is a playroom for children. There is a small supermarket a 5 minute walk away.
The breakfast is fantastic and the choice is huge: egg dishes, mini fried eggs, bacon, sausages, ham, cheese, tramezzini, bruschetta, melon with prosciutto, tomato mozzarella, mini pizzas, croissants, many different types of bread and pastries, cakes, biscuits, pies, donuts, muffins, creams (panna cotta, tiramisu ..), fruit, vegetables, yogurt, muesli, many different jams from the dispenser (environmentally friendly), a juicing machine for freshly squeezed juice, gluten-free products .. There is also a wonderful terrace by the breakfast room, surrounded by greenery.
We fell in love with this place and that is why we even got engaged and married here.
Wedding: We planned our destination wedding at Lake Garda from Austria 500 km away, we luckily made the decision to choose Relais Mondotella for our reception.
We started planning the wedding 10 months before and went to Italy 3 times in advance for this purpose.
The team was always quick to respond to all of our emails and questions leading up to our wedding.
The collaboration with our florist, hair dresser, DJ, photographer and videographer was also great, we even got a video wall.
We had invited around 25 guests - all from abroad. Our guests spent a whole weekend - from Friday to Sunday - at Relais Mondotella. The wedding day included a come together aperitif in the early afternoon, then a second aperitif after the ceremony (both outside on the terrace) and a 3-course dinner with a dessert buffet.
Our guests loved this place so much that some of them stayed there again after the wedding.
The only thing that was a little difficult for us was the meal composition. The reason for this was probably that the eating habits in Italy are different than in our home country and we had to get used to it.
The best that could ever have happened to us. Everything was perfect - from start to...
Read moreWe wanted somewhere quiet but of quality near Lake Garda from where we could visit Venice and Verona by train. This family run business met all our needs. The room was very comfortable with a good sized ensuite and was serviced daily with regular linen changes. All the staff were amazingly helpful, particularly reception and the staff in the restaurant and breakfast room. The menu was superb, but we missed a few basic items on a very rich and generous selection- but the kitchen always helped and the waiter also gave useful and knowledgeable suggestions as to how to combine courses to suit our palate and hunger levels. Breakfast buffets were amazing and the staff always attentive and friendly. The views from the Relais were of Garda and the mountains in the distance. Although a summer cold prevented my using the outdoor pool, we did relax there too on occasions. And yes, we did make it to Venice and Verona - free parking at Desenzano station and 1.5 hrs to Venice or 30 minutes to Verona by train. Idyllic. Desenzano is a gem too - fairly unspoilt lakeside town with lakeside walks , interesting trattoria and boat trips across the lake. a good place...
Read moreThis is a new property and is exceptionally good value and really nice. It has a very large pool in spacious grounds with nice new sun loungers and shower facilities. It has an exercise room. It has a pleasant bar and breakfast is simply outstanding - one of the top breakfasts we have had on all our travels.||||We had booked dinner nearby because they do not advertise the fact that they have a really good kitchen and very good serving staff. We cancelled. On an hot evening we sat looking out over the adjacent vineyards and were very impressed by the kitchen/chef. There are very interesting local wines on offer which you can buy at Euro 3 per glass and the measures are most fair! Just ask for advice.||||Finally the room was very well appointed, modern air conditioning, good toiletries etc.||||Looking back I got out our bill for one night B&B and a good dinner with wines. It was significantly less than Euro 200. Very good place which you could spend quite some time at. They should sell themselves...
