On arrival we got off the train and the short walk was described as first right first right. We walked for about 25 mins thankfully all downhill with loads of stairs and cobbled streets, some had no pavement at all with traffic everywhere (bearing in mind all uphill on way back). B and B has no name from the outside its on a buzzer only so had to ask 3 different people for location. Eventually had to phone owner who directed us. He then phoned us back saying no one was there to let us in so we had to sit on the stairs and wait. When we got in we found out that the room was not ready for us so we went out for something to eat. Came back couple of hours later and still nothing was ready. Made beds up ourselves and went for a nap only to be wakened 20mins later with the arrival of the cleaner. Breakfast was a joke. Laid out night before and consisted of 2 tiny bits of pre packed melba toast, nutella, jam and a small sponge cake. We bought some rolls and eggs and crisps only to find that the next day some people arrived and as it was a shared kitchen they decided to help themselves to our food, now bear in mind a pack of crisps had already been half eaten so they knew they did not belong to them. On the positive side, the b and b in itself is charming. The view from the balcony off the kitchen was to die for. All the islands visible. Unfortunately some building work going on there. Location very good for the main strip of bars and restaurants. Found a lovely clothes boutique a couple of doors down that was very cheap with some lovely items. Stay here if you dont mind sharing the kitchen and bathroom. Only the triple room has on...

There had been no cleaning done so we went out for something to eat whilst the cleaning got done or so we thought when we came back the place was empty and yet still no cleaning done we had a really long day and wanted to get a bit of rest and no sooner had we put our heads down than the man who had let us in turned up again this time cleaner with him, bit much as it was now around 5·30pm breakfast was a bit of a joke laid out the night before Melba toast little sponge cake things so you definitely need to buy your own. Kitchen was shared not keen on that as other guests just thought they could help themselves to our goods All said the location was good and view was beautiful and for what we paid it was good value so if it is just a base you want for a few days then this is okay but they really need to sort out new pillows as they were nothing but...

Or, just let her surprise you with some of her beautiful bread (either wholemeal or fig and walnuts), pastries, cakes (bobelonis are sensational!) or pancakes, usually baked in her coal-fired oven in the garden. Or the fruit. Sometimes as a treat, her homemade pizza or pasta will arrive for the evening! Many of the ingredients for her baking are produced or grown in their own garden, alongside the many fruits she serves. ||||Angela also makes all her own jams from her own fruit. Stunning! ||||These two lovely people and her family make guests feel totally at home, and indeed they feel more like our own family than even very close...
