In early July, 2023 we stayed one night here. This hotel is the last one we stayed in Dolomite Mountains during our Italy trip with an amazing view to the most famous Three Peaks of Lavaredo (The Tre Cime di Lavaredo). Again the reason we picked this hotel because it is literally next to the Three peaks (probably the only one) and we hoped to see sunset and sunrise. After parked the car, it took about 1.5 hr to hike to the hotel. Our group of four got a room for four with bunkbed which reminded me of college domitory life. The room directly faces the Three Peaks. The hotel is located in the remote mountains so there is no internet available. Also there is no hot water for any washing. Two toilets for each gender only for room guests but there is a WC downstair for public use. All staffs are very friendly and nice. The dinner and breakfast are simple and enough. There are two small lakes close to the hotel. We had a bad weather on the day we checked in with poor visibility, or occasionally see nothing around except fog or cloud. But luckily the sky was clear after dinner. The next day it was a sunny day, and at 5 am we went downhill to the lakes and caught the beautiful and breathtaking view of sunrise with the lake stained red by morning glow, then we hurried to climb up to the hotel to see the sunrise of the Three Peaks. Oveall it is an unforgetable experience. If you like to see sunset and sunrise of the Three Peaks and can tolerate no internet and no hot water, we highly...

Read moreSo the location is obviously great, but it doesn’t make this restaurant great. Me and a friend walked in last night at 8:15pm after a long walk. No one said hi to us, we approached the waitress and asked for a table for two for dinner and we were told (not in the nicest way) that the kitchen closes at 7:30. We asked then for a toast, a sandwich or something simple and the owner looked at us saying pretty loud and clear that the kitchen was closed. The lady then offered a slice of Strudel (typical mountain cake). For 2 generous slices of strudel and two radlers (mix of Fanta and beer) we were charged 21€, yes, twenty one euros. This is absolutely ridiculous, the price, the treatment and the fact that in one of the most visited and touristic places of the Dolomites the kitchen closes at 7:30pm. I could understand if the food supply was hard to get but the place is reachable with a four wheel drive so the prices aren’t justified at all. The treatment was also unacceptable, the way we were spoken was rude. We are also locals, from Centro Cadore, although, being Italians and speaking Italian, Sud Tirol people consider us strangers. I checked on the website and the webpage is very poor, only in the price list if you read carefully you can see that the kitchen closes at 7:30. Not easy to spot. All the restaurants in the area are closing way later than that. When we walked in we found people with a fresh and warm meal on the table, weird. Totally unsatisfied. Wouldn’t recommend...
