A popular via ferrata in The Tre Cime Nature Park which is named after two friends who found themselves on the opposing sides in WW1 and both died on this mountain. The trail to the ferrata starts at Rifugio Tre Cime southbound towards Monte Paterno. One first climbs a normal path, then enters the steep and low-ceiled tunnel called Gallerie del Paterno. The ferrata starts at the end of the tunnel. The ascent is steep and somewhat exposed but not at all technically difficult. I would rate it as B/C level. The distance from the tunnel to the peak is 600 meters and it took my group about 1 hour to cover it. The important downside of this ferrata is it's popularity - it is suitable for beginners and thus crowded in season so that waiting every now and then is inevitable. As the surrounding scenery is beautiful, waiting time can be shortened by taking great pictures... The descend is to the south...
