JOAS natur.hotel.b&b — Hotel in Pustertal - Val Pusteria

I really wanted to like this hotel as from the pictures and the other comments I decided to pin our family's vacation here. But upon arriving in Europe, we were informed that our confirmed room was no longer available. ||||Mix ups happen. Double bookings happen. But what happened next is not usually one would except from a hotel with a 9+ rating.||||I indicated that we have a written confirmation from the hotel and we traveled quite far to get here. What we got instead was a conversation about rules, regulations of the hotel and how they have the right to do so. After admitting that they double booked, they then proceeded to indicate that my credit card was invalid. I checked and it was fine. I tried to reason but they continued to talk over me without giving me time and time again.||||Yes, it is indeed any hotel's right to refuse service to guests but to do at the last minute while we were in transit from afar with a such short notice says something about the hotel's interest in their guests. There is double booking but often one does something about it- not hide behind the fine print of a hotel's terms and conditions. And then go into other reasons to justify a common mistake.||||I was shocked to encounter this kind of behavior from a hotel which has such great reviews on Tripadvisor. My stay at Joas was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by incredibly friendly staff who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Loved our stay here! The hotel is very clean, modern, and cosy. Our room was spacious and we were greeted with an incredible mountain view every day. Service was also great and hospitable at this welcoming family run hotel. Breakfast was delicious with good variety and the effort put into presentation for our eggs was chefs kiss We chose to stay in this village instead of the more popular area (Cortina) and were glad we did as we did not have to deal with the heavy traffic and limited parking we contended with when we visited Cortina.
