My family and I arrived here after a hot, 6-hour drive from Croatia, looking forward to a relaxing evening and a nice Italian meal. We had read reviews of this hotel on Venere.com and it seemed like a good choice - pleasant and quiet park location in a small town near Venice, large air-conditioned rooms, a good restaurant and pets welcome (we were travelling with a medium-sized dog).||||Most of that is, in fact, correct. But it would be hard to imagine someone less interested in her customers than the young woman at the reception desk. No smile, barely a hello. Here's your keys. Breakfast from 6:30 to 9:30. Can we eat at your restaurant? It opens at 8 p.m. Then she sees the dog, and makes a fuss. I tell her that according to the Venere.com site, pets are welcome. She scowls and telephones someone in charge. After a long conversation, yes, the dog is OK. But I'm sorry, it seems the restaurant is full. Go into town, you'll find a pizza. ||||In the end, that was lucky for us because we found a great restaurant - Ristorante Galli just down the road. But I am still way too annoyed with the unfriendly welcome to say very much positive about the hotel. Yes, the location is pleasant and the rooms are fine (see the photos). So I'm able to give it 2 stars. The breakfast, however, was absolutely minimalist - a croissant and small sweet rolls, ham and cheese, and one cup of coffee - and again served by a different but equally unfriendly woman.||||And as for the dog, if you're going to accept pets, then make them welcome as well, instead of treating the whole family like outcasts. If you don't like dogs, then don't accept guests with dogs. I don't see what's so difficult about this.||||This is called the "hospitality" industry for a reason. It's a no-brainer. I most definitely do not...
Read moreWe celebrated New Year's Eve with Chef Alessandro Rossi's special menu for the event. We were drawn to this restaurant for two reasons:
Our expectations were met completely. We came to understand that Chef Rossi is hoping to qualify for a Michelin Star at his new restaurant. We have dined in Michelin Star restaurants before but we must admit that our New Year's Eve dinner at Ristorant del Relai Villa Sevatico surpassed anything we have experienced anywhere before in a restaurant of this level of fine dining. Each plate was perfectly and imaginatively prepared and exquisitely presented. We decided to have the Chef's selection of fine wines paired with each course and this proved to highlight the aromas and flavours of each course. The table service was excellent and well-timed. An explanation of each plate and the accompanying wine was provided. All in all, Chef Rossi provided for us the perfect New Year's Eve celebration and we look forward to enjoying his...
