We have been staying at this hotel for the past 5 ski seasons, usually visiting in late Feb/early March avoiding local Italian school holidays which means the resort is not crowded and the ski lifts easy to access. Ski area can be busy at weekends with Italian families week-ending in the resort. Hotel Brunelle is situated right in the ski area away from the village and use of cars is restricted to access and when vacating the area, with a car pass issued on entering the national park.||||The hotel, particularly since the high quality addition of the ground floor spa, is perfect for basing yourself in the ski area. Rooms are really comfortable and offer a range to suit your pocket and preferences. The food is high quality with a great breakfast buffet with one of the Chefs on hand to prepare your eggs the way you love to eat them. Dinner is a minimum of 6 courses with the starter being a self service salad bar and the presentation and freshness is delightful and of the highest standard. For us, the Spa is a big attraction at the hotel as after a hard days ski-ing you can sauna, steam bath or swim and relax in the quiet rooms on heated water beds, or simply chill out around the pool on a relaxer bed and gaze at the snow peaks through the panoramic floor to ceiling windows. For the ladies there is also a professionally staffed beauty treatment facility, which I would recommend you book on line at the hotel website before arriving to avoid disappointment.||||The hotel is very popular with Italian and German tourists and I have yet to meet any other Brits at the hotel as I don't think this area of Italy is on the UK ski radar but I would definatelly recommend this hotel and this area for beginners and intermediate skiers as most of the runs are Blue and Red.||||The hotel and Alpe di Siusi area also offers a great base for summer vacations for walkers, mountain bikers etc but I have only visited in the winter...

Read moreChecked out describes the owners of this hotel and, ultimately, what we ended up having to do because it was sooo bad!||Generally, family run establishments try their hardest to make up for what they may lack in facilities (compared to bigger hotels), with a genuine effort to make guests feel welcome and cared for - a personalised touch. Well, not this place!! ||Their social media, marketing and branding is clearly done by someone external to sucker people into to booking the hotel, because once they have your money and you arrive, they could not care less and actually make you feel unwelcome and like an inconvenience to them.||Setting aside the numerous issues with the property, (like the fact it is extremely hot in all areas, not even a fan is possible in the rooms like at other hotels that don't typically have aircon here; the rooms that face the kitchen and have the staff smoking right outside your window, that must be left open because it is so damn hot etc etc), the biggest issue here is the owners that simply don't care about their guests and trying to ensure they have a good experience.||We booked 3 nights and ended up leaving after just one because of how we were treated. Despite complaining to the owner about the problems, we were told we could only change rooms if we paid more money to them and were charged the full amount for 3 days even though we had to leave after just one day because it is so bad. ||Our advice, do yourself a favour a stay somewhere else in the area. They are also NOT dog friendly at all, despite what is claimed. We ended up staying at the Como Alpina Hotel and it was amazing - personalised, welcoming - proving that smaller family run places are not always more friendly than...
