The US Snowboarding Team was in the Dolomites for our Junior World Championships and learned the day before our arrival that the hotel we had booked in a neighboring town was closing for the season. Taking a break from an arduous, arid and challenging environment could not have been spent in a better place than Tiers. We loved this place and it’s magnificent and breathtaking scenery and captivating walks. Hilde and her family were wonderful hosts and looked after our every need. Their warmth and hospitality ensured we felt like we were staying with family. The food was wonderful and plentiful and ensured we were fuelled for our next day of walking. Tiers was a strategic choice for us as a jump off point for hut to hut hiking. We needed a restful place for our first night off the plane. We could not have chosen a better hotel. Mathilde and Georg run a great hotel. Super food as part of the half board. We seldom take advantage of half board but we are so happy with the food at Stefaner. From my observation, there are more up scale hotels in Tiers and some that are much simpler than Stefaner. Mathilde and Georg are right in the sweet spot and it seems to show in the cleintele.
