Visited for one night in June 2025 at start week's holiday from our home in nearby Emilia. Lovely location just outside the dreaded ZTL. Very peaceful, beautiful views all around, excellent guest communication from Giacomo, one the owners, on the morning of departure, after a well managed and complete breakfast service. Definitely worth a return visit and to be recommended. A few elements probably made me not include that top star. Pricey, but this is Siena. Reception up an outside entrance stair which also has to be used to gain entry in the evening together with entry code when reception is closed and to facilitate the opening of the downstairs door in the evening, even though a ground floor room is what we had expected due to a recent knee operation. Fortunately reception was able to change our room, after contacting the owners, to ground floor although I had expected our type of room to be all ground floor as specified on the website. If guests have stair restrictions this could be a big problem. The room was really very small but adequate and the bed was rather uncomfortable for me with no topper but I am still recovering so the bed may be fine for others although my husband also found it lacking and a bit short. Disturbance from upstairs and early showering etc from around 0630 was a nuisance The bar is very limited with very few choices, Aperol Spritz but no Campari, my favourite. Whilst there are some seats under the shade of trees in the grounds a little table would be helpful also, rather than a tray on the ground. The outside terrace is well furnished but was in full sun at our time of visit. The biggest problem was the entrance gate off the main road. We followed, incorrectly, computer instructions and ended up going along a road pararell to the hotel, with no entrance obviously. We had to turn on this narrow road and then try to make a very tight turn into the gates of the hotel which my husband ended up dunting and scraping our car's bumper. Repair still to be done which won't be cheap. Caviat everyone if you've got a hire car! Even both taxi drivers that evening made issue about the gate and both had to park their mirrors. It is not just by coincidence that there is a garage repair business just to the left of the gates. They probaby do good business from these gates? We did however enjoy our stay and would recommend booking especially as there is parking for around 8-10 cars if drivers park considerately notwithstanding the...

Where you stay in Siena has everything to do with how you experience Siena. I have been to Siena before and stayed in a high end hotel within the walls of the city. It was a nice experience, so I returned almost 15 years later this November with my fiance'.

This trip, I was BLOWN AWAY by our experience at Palazzo di Valli!! It does not feel like you are staying in a hotel, but more like being a guest of a fabulously wealthy uncle with a mansion in Tuscany. WOW. It all started with the warmest reception I have ever had in Italy (it reminded me of Ireland!). Next, he walked us to a private entrance for a room on the ground level that had a ceiling with the original exposed dark wood support beams with white plaster, just like you would see in movies. We even had a view of the Tuscan countryside from our bed! VERY romantic!! We felt like we had the place to ourselves as we watched a full moon rise over the distant hillside. The first thing I said to my fiance' was that I wished we had booked Palazzo di Valli for more than 3 nights.

We were also thrilled to discover that, while the hotel is outside of the walls of Siena, it is certainly not out of town in the countryside (as it looked to be on Google maps). We could walk to the Roman gate in 5-6 minutes and be at il Campo or the Duomo in 15 minutes. There are also good restaurants and pizza places within a block of the hotel if you don't want to venture into the walled city.

The bottom line is that I would feel like Palazzo di Valli was a great value if I paid TWICE what we paid to stay there, and I would even pay 3x what I was charged to have that experience again. Truthfully, I felt a little guilty to experience such a wonderful stay at that price (and I have spent most of my life on the road in sales). Just be sure to stay long enough that you can explore Siena AND relax with morning lattes or late afternoon wine on their huge patio. You will forget the rest of the world exists while staring out at the beautiful Tuscan valley laid...

We recently took a 3 week trip to Italy and Croatia and Palazzo Di Valli was our absolute favorite hotel. We stayed for 5 nights while exploring Tuscany by rental car. The location was perfect for us since it was outside of the crazy city center of Siena so easy for us to get our days of exploration started early on the road. It is about a mile walk to the Siena city center so keep that in mind. We tried to take the bus into the main square but were not successful (one bus didn't stop and the other never came).||The Palazzo is beautifully decorated and the grounds are out of a Tuscany magazine. I couldn't stop taking pictures. We had a gorgeous room on the second floor with 2 windows in the room and one in the bathroom. The views were breath taking. Breakfast was generous and delicious. Eating outside on the patio overlooking the city and countryside was sublime. The helper at breakfast Susana was very sweet and efficient and responsive. Giacomo the host is a sincere and warm person who genuinely wants his guests to enjoy the beauty and charm of his country. He gave us many tips for our exploration of the countryside as well as local restaurants. It's certainly not the cheapest but I would say it is an experience not to be missed.||Beware- google maps locates it incorrectly to be on a side road but it is directly off of the main road. there is a sign for the Palazzo which we blew past while following the google maps directions. we had a small suv and were able to maneuver our car through the entrance (other reviewers mention the narrow driveway) with some patience. it's important to enter and exit though their gate as perpendicularly as possible. there were 2 of us in the car which helped. i could imagine it being a bit dicey trying to maneuver it alone though. the water was soft which is of no fault to the owners. no elevator which was ok for us but might be an issue for others. there are rooms located at street...

My husband and I recently had the most enchanting experience at the Palazzo di Valli in Siena. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with exceptional hospitality that made our stay truly unforgettable. Giacomo and Lorenzo, the dedicated staff at this charming hotel, went above and beyond to ensure our visit was nothing short of magical. The moment we stepped into our room, we were captivated by the breathtaking view it offered. Overlooking the picturesque Siena landscape, our room provided us with a glimpse of the Italian Villa experience we had been yearning for. It was beautifully decorated and incredibly comfortable, making it the perfect haven after a day of exploring the city. One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious breakfast served at Palazzo di Valli. Whether savoring the perfectly brewed coffee or indulging in the fresh spread and pastries, the breakfast alone was worth the visit. What made it even more special was the opportunity to dine on the terrace while taking in the stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The location of Palazzo di Valli is ideal for those looking to explore Siena. With just a short 10-minute walk into town, we were able to immerse ourselves in the rich history and vibrant culture that this city has to offer. The convenience of being so close to the heart of Siena, while still enjoying the tranquility of the Palazzo, was truly a winning combination. Without a doubt, we will be returning to this exquisite hotel on our future trips to Siena. The hospitality, the room, the breakfast, and the location all contributed to a stay that exceeded our expectations. Giacomo and Lorenzo made us feel like family, and for that, we are forever grateful. If you're seeking a truly magical and authentic Italian experience, do yourself a favor and book your stay at Palazzo di Valli. It's a gem in the heart of Siena that we can't wait to return to.
