We travelled to Tresbisacce with our 10 and 12 year old for a 4 night stay at the Miramare Palace in August 2014. The hotel is dated but our room was clean, comfortable and large and had all the amenities required. Thankfully, the bed was very comfortable too. Our first morning, we went down to the lobby and were pleasantly surprised when the manager directed us to the complimentary breakfast room. While it wasn't a full breakfast buffet, it had a reasonable selection (cereal, toast, fruit, cheese, croissants and various baked goods) and saved us from having to go out and look for a breakfast place, so we were thrilled with it and ate there each morning. The coffee (espressos, cappucinos etc...) was excellent and was on offer 24 hours a day in the lobby. The manager never let us walk by the lobby desk without offering my husband an espresso! Directly across from the hotel, is the beach where the hotel has their own private section with lounge chairs. There were always plenty of chairs and the water was clean and warm. The locals are very proud of the beach's "blue bandera" status. My only caution is that the beach is a rock beach (not sand) so I would recommend water shoes otherwise the rocks can be difficult to walk on. The hotel is within walking distance of many excellent restaurants and shops in the town as well as the town square. On the weekend we were there, we attended the "Pepperoncino Festival" which took place in the town square which was a lot of fun. We did eat at the hotel's rooftop restaurant one evening and I would say the food was average (a bit too salty), but prices reasonable. We never used the hotel's rooftop pool because the Ionian Sea was much more inviting! Overall, we found all of the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant one and we would...
Read moreThe Miramare was a wonderful hotel, by far th best in the area. We had a stunning room overlooking the Ionian and our location couldn't be better right across the street from the beach and near good restaurants another attractions. The rooms are spacious and bright and have all the needed amenities. ||Breakfast was simple but good and the rooftop garden and pool were wonderful!! The fully equipped fitness center is excellent, we only wish we had tie to try the spa!||The best part of the Miramare was the people. Every single person who worked there were gracious, welcoming and helpful. I wish all hotels were so pleasant! The owner of the hotel was often present and was a gracious and lovely gentleman who runs a top shelf establishment. ||Parking is also available on premises which was a great bonus.||We highly recommend the Miramare Palace and look forward to...
Read moreWe travelled as a family with a small group hosted by a local. It was the ideal way to visit Calabria . Visitors have to remember that Calabria is not tourist oriented . Businesses are family run and very low key. No gift shops! The season only runs from June to August. The hotel opened one floor for our group. Wifi was good most of the time. Large rooms with ocean views and large bathrooms. In fact it looks way better than in the photos. The service was like being hosted by a friendly family. Only one front desk lady speaks English . Breakfast was ok with fresh mozzarella cheese , fresh orange juice, all the cappuccinos you want , cold meats, and a new freshly baked cake every day :). We stayed 10 days with day trips around Calabria every day. They did not charge extra for water bottles or for phone calls. Very...
