I did a lot of research before booking this hotel as my daughter wanted to revisit the hot thermal Springs as a post GCSE treat, based on her memories from when she was 5 years old! We were travelling by public transport so the 5 minute walk to the Springs was, of course, the biggest draw.||However, I also choose this hotel because I thought it looked beautiful and the breakfast sounded authentic.||I have to say, all my expectations were exceeded! A real Tuscan welcome from Graziella, who is the owner along with her lovely husband Maurizio. She is such a delight! Although a grandmother to adult grandchildren she even speaks a little English - self taught with Duolingo!||The hotel is a haven of peace and beauty. I honestly did not want to leave! We were travelling in July due to the nature of the trip. I am not a heat lover so got up at 5am and spent 3 gorgeous hours at the Springs - before my hearty Tuscan breakfast and delicious cappucino.||That morning I lay under the trees in the shade on the hotel side of the river whilst my daughter enjoyed the cascades. They are very easy to reach across a shallow little river.||The place has changed a lot in 10 years. There is now a restaurant that has a big menu and accepts cards next to the Springs. It is not obtrusive though and the natural Springs are as eternally wonderful as ever.||We also visited the Spa. As guests of this hotel we could get entrance tickets for 22 euro. Although we prefer the natural Springs the Spa is definitely an experience worth having and the water there is closer to the source.||We did not have time to use the private pool at the hotel but it looked very inviting and for me is just an additional reason to come back...||The rooms and bathroom were simply lovely. Spacious, comfy beds, white towels, a range of quality toiletries, and the homemade jams gift!||It was nice chatting with the grandson in the morning who speaks excellent English. In a polite way he mentioned that there is a trend towards 5 star expectations without paying 5 star prices. That is a real shame. If you appreciate genuine hospitality, good quality in an idyllic setting, with a short private walk to one of the natural wonders of this world, I think you will be as...

We paid €350 for 2 nights and had one of the worst hotel experiences imaginable. This wasn’t just bad service – it was deception, neglect, and complete disrespect for guests. 📌 1. Incomplete room, unacceptable conditions: • The room was supposed to have 3 beds – we got only 2. • No drinking water provided, even though they knew children were with us. • Broken kettle, air conditioning barely working. • Mosquitoes all night, we had to fight them instead of sleeping. • Poor cleanliness. Not enough towels. 🍽️ 2. Terrible food, nothing available nearby: • Breakfast – same every day, tasteless and carelessly prepared. • During the day – nothing to eat, not even a shop. • The closest restaurant was 1 km away, down a dangerous road with no sidewalks. 🏊♂️ 3. “Swimming pool” – a disgusting lie: • The so-called “pool” was just a pit filled with spring water, • Full of black worms and mud at the bottom – unsanitary and repulsive. 📶 4. No proper internet, no public transport: • Wi-Fi didn’t work in the room, only weak and unstable signal outside. • No public transport at all – without a car, you’re stranded. 🚗 5. “Organized transfer” = scam + mockery: • They demanded €100 cash for a transfer that should cost €80 by regular taxi. • When it was time to leave, they brought a broken-down car with no seatbelts and smelling like fuel – we refused to get in. • Then came back with a Jeep with dashboard warning lights, and dropped us in the middle of a random town, not even at the correct station. • We missed our train because of them. Only thanks to kind locals did we manage to reach the proper bus stop and get to the train. ❌ Conclusion:
Arrogant, irresponsible hosts with no shame. Everything is done for fast profit with zero concern for guests. ⚠️ Avoid at all costs. Sleeping in a tent would be a better experience than...
Read moreI am often sceptical when reading reviews of independent hotels especially when people say 5 minutes from ............||||So here is the truth. This hotel is in Saturnia and is approximately 3 kilometres from the main town. Saturnia town is really a quaint village based around a large square and with a population of approximately 150 people the town has all the basics and several restaurants. The restaurants I would say are budget to mid range in terms of price and offer excellent dining options.||||Saturnai is famous for its hot thermal springs and there are two located here.||||The first is commercialised and is in the form of a SPA and Pool complex and costs about €25.00 to enter. This is approximately 1 KM from the hotel. ||||The second and Best in my opinion is the natural springs and plunge pools. These are FREE and only a 5 minute stroll from the hotel. Really it is a 5 minute gentle walk past the hotel's natural swimming pool and along a footpath and you're there. ||I should add that although you cannot see it easily; there is a small café at the springs that serves cold drinks and lunches, so you can easily spend a day here. Space around the springs is limited so if you want to lay a towel out to lie in the sun I would recommend getting here early (easy if your staying at this hotel).||||The hotel is lovely, very clean and the hosts are extremely friendly (although their English is vary limited). The rooms are freshly decorated, very spacious and the air conditioning provides a welcome relief from the Tuscan Heat.||||The hotel offers a buffet breakfast but no other dining options. Therefore you are going to have to walk for dinner unless...
