On my first visit to this mountain my general impression was "What a disappointing mountain". We went on a day when only a few lifts of the lower mountain were open and they seemed to have so many trees but they don’t let you ride 98% of the off piste terrain. So keep that in mind that on good pow days they don't have much to offer as the wind is too high for most of the mountain. On my second visit the mountain was fully open and I did enjoy some of the official powder fields you can ride off piste in. However many of the official fields such as zone 1 were still roped off and the exit of this area was the flattest cat track I have ever been on. If you plan well, you can carry enough speed to make it out without walking but you will be going very slow. However they only have a small portion of the mountain developed for tree riding and I do see gullies and challenges to the exit points in the other no-go zones, but this is where it could be developed. I now see the value in what they created at Niseko where ALL of the trees are accessible with clear gates and even wooden arrows in the trees to direct you to the exit points. I think most of us would be ok with a small hike out of a gully if it was clear which direction to go. So a guide is a good idea to get the best out of this mountain. But even with a guide you are ducking ropes which is disappointing. I spoke to a few guides and ski instructors... Overall, Kiroro is a missed opportunity for what could be an epic mountain. The trees on below Yoichi No. 1 express lift are a great example. They have very few bad lines and it's not hard to get in and out of but its all roped off. No one pays attention to the ropes, but again, it would be great if they had clear gates to access what is a no stress, amazing...

PLEASE DO NOT CHOOSE KIRORO which is JUST FOR YOUR SAFETY. Because I was attacked by their stuff and I got hurt. It has been painful and getting worse. They are CRAZY and INSANE!! Kiroro is definitely the worst choice in Hokkaido for skiing/snowboarding. Specially when the gondola is not working, it’s really hard to find any enjoyable course in the restricted area and terrain including back country which is hard to even cruise. NOT FUN AT ALL! I’ve been snowboarding for years and been here not just once but once is very enough. You get bored so easily. No way to choose here more than other places and definitely not worth to come to Hokkaido all the way for Kiroro. Please choose Niseko or Rusutsu. They are so much better like I can’t tell you how much. Also the lack of quality of their stuff, they can NOT protect skiers/snowboarders. I was attacked by their stuff and got injured here and they will not take care of me at...

Fantastic ski holiday at club med kiroro grand! Super well organised, everything is seamless from ski equipment fitting, lockers assigned for your ski equipment, ski lessons for both adults and kids were Fantastic too! The ski instructors were awesome especially for the kids! They took care of the kids during lessons and ensure the kids were safe. Both ski instructors and staff were very well trained to handle kids of different age groups. F&B was awesome too! The main Yoichi restaurant where they served all meals were fantastic! Every lunch and dinner on the 6 days I was there varied day to day, salute the f&b staff and chefs for preparing awesome good quality food every day! And I meant really good quality food! Big shout out to the kitchen staff for working round the clock to prepare the food and cleaning up the utensils, crockery left from a huge crowd every day and every meal! Really love the holiday! One small thing to mention is probably the housekeeping can be more thorough. The housekeeping staff were very good in turning around the rooms ready for us to rest, and I believe the different jobs of housekeeping a room were handled by different staff, hence somedays the room make up can be slightly choppy, e.g leftover food and used mugs and glasses are not cleared and clean ones provided. But in the grand scheme of things, this is minor and not critical! All in all an awesome enjoyable stay for my family, my kids didn't want to leave! Would like to give a special shout out to our GO Tiffany! Thank you for everything and helping us arranging many things on demand in short notice! Hope to see you...

Well groomed slopes, interesting runs. The new gondola that doesn't serve any real purpose, slow and not connected to any slope. Hiking up the hill to get to the lifts and gondola... Not a real ski-in/ski-out. Mediocre food offerings and expensive, don't even give you complimentary water fountain for such expensive lift tickets. Expensive rentals and don't even allow you to try on sizes the night before for the next day pickup, have to pay EXTRAs for that service!!! Sunrise was 7am and the lifts only operate at 9am! Why not start earlier progressively as the day gets longer, more money to be made! The consolation of above all, mother nature bless with lots of JaPow. It's only worth it if there's heavy snowfall. Hence expensive lift tickets. Day trip is best option, over priced accommodations on the mountain.

We visited Kiroro Grand in summer. Thanks to the kind service of the staff, our trip was much more fun than we expected. It was a short but full holiday with family. Special thanks to Jen for always helping with our transport booking and changes. She answered all our questions in Chinese, very helpful for guests. Also thanks to Coach Tanjung. We joined his Power Walk/Run and Nordic Walk. He cared about our safety in nature (bears, ants) and made it fun by teaching us about nature, even funny things like edible bugs and fox droppings. Finally, big thanks to James, the bartender. He is kind and sincere, always caring about guests. Adults and kids all enjoyed. His latte art at breakfast is also very professional. We hope to come back in winter for skiing at Kiroro Peak and see them again.
