Tokyu Vacations Tateshina — Hotel in Chino

Room was spacious for the 2 of us but second bedroom is mats on floor certainly not what westerns are familiar with. Use of a car is an absolute must if you want to leave resort. No shuttle was provided as a previous review stated. Taxis will cost you a fortune. This resort is not set up for the foreigner. No videos/games or anything to past the time if you are staying in. TV only Japanese stations. English not spoken by reception staff. Plus there is a cleaning fee you pay when you arrive ... for what I do not know as they do not service the room daily. DO NOT leave the air conditioners on while you go out as you pay for services ie water and electricity (all units have their own metering system) at the end of stay. Ours came to over $45.oo (Aust) for 4 night stay . Wanted the room warm for when we got home . Overall a nice outlook and very quite as in winter the other resorts nearby were closed. Oh and if you are a skier the resort nearby is not a resort ...one chair lift and two or three runs. It is for non- skiers and families. Stupid me should of done more research before I came as we wanted to ski. Initially we were not going to hire a car .... had to as we would have been stuck at resort for 4 days and you need to drive to any half decent ski resort. Wish I had of read my review before I booked.... would not of...

We were a group of six and we stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights. We had a six sleeper apartment. The rooms were spacious, very well maintained and with a great view. The staff were very welcoming and accomodating especially since we had limited Japanese ability. The hotel is ideally located and close to most points of interests and especially for the ski resorts which was the main reason of our stay and trip. The only downside was that as it was the end of the season most of the restuarant options at the resort were closed or had limited hours of service. However the apartment had an excellent kitchen and there was a well stocked Convenience store fairly nearby. One other minor complaint was the Wifi was a little patchy at times. Aside from that we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning...

This was an excellent resort. It is situated in the mountains yet close enough to cities you can drive to restaurants or activities. We enjoyed our stay here. The beds were comfortable, The unit was clean and stocked. It had a stove top, microwave, refrigerator, rice cooker, and dishes.. Like all RCI resorts the couch was uncomfortable and we did not utilize the futon bed portion. There were plenty of sheets, extra futons, and pillows.This was a once in a lifetime trip for me, but if I did ever go back to Japan, this resort would be on my list of...
