Amazing, traditional Japanese ryokan. The onsens are great, they switch the two shared ones daily between men and women, so one can try both. The private baths are also awesome! We called a day before to make reservation, but booking them at the time of check-in should work too. The stone sauna was a great experience too. There are massage chairs outside the onsens, which is a great place to wait for a partner while they get ready. The foods are simply out of this world. Many small courses, all great quality and tasty. I was really surprised by the great tuna sashimi (considering Yamanashi is land-locked) at dinner and the baked salmon at breakfast. (Pro tip: breakfast is huge, so book choose the last timeslot and go to the onsen before to build up an appetite.) Local wine is average, go for something else. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The building is a bit old, but well kept and constantly upgraded. This meant that e.g. the toilet in the room was brand new, but the AC a bit old (and it also got a bit cold by the morning). It was fine with the extra futons though. The price is a bit high, but other than the alcoholic drinks everything was included: the private bath, the bathrooms, the special clothes to the stone sauna, soft drink bar in the lobby (next to the onsens),...

We are foreign visiters. We visited this hotel during our holiday to Japan. It was the first time I visited with my family and it was the best experience of our whole trip - we were completely satisfied with everything! Even though we cannot speak Japanese, the staff at the hotel were still helpful and made an effort to provide the best service to us. The most special thing about this hotel is the garden and fish pond. The hotel complex is situated around the edges of a truly beautiful network of fishponds and a central garden, with plenty of beautiful grass and trees. While using the hotel facilities, we enjoyed always being able to see this tranquil space. We took plenty of time to appreciate every moment and admire this gorgeous garden. The gift shop also sold breadcrumbs for us to feed the Koi! It was a truly awesome hotel and a wonderful experience. We will definitely come again next time...

A 15-20 minute walk from isawaonsen station, this ryokan. The staff is super friendly, the futons super comfy, and the public and private baths are wonderful. I hope the next time I come I can speak better Japanese. As an English speaking person, I had to use Google translate from time to time with my limited Japanese, but everyone has been so helpful...
