割烹居酒屋 愛作 — Restaurant in Fuefuki

Basing this review primarily on the first time I visited this izakaya this week. Although I have added a comment on my second visit. On each occasion I was there just after 5pm with no reservation. Also I don’t think the staff speak any English, and I can barely put a few words together in Japanese.

First visit on a Wednesday, no problems getting seated at the counter, and the waiter gave me a tablet with which I could order in English. Intuitive to use, although sometimes you have to click into the item to get the description. I ordered beer, various plates of sushi and karaage throughout the evening. All arrived as ordered, arrived quickly and tasted great. Great atmosphere and I planned to go again.

On my last day in Isawaonsen, I did decide to revisit. Unfortunately, being a Saturday, there were presumably a lot of reservations as although there were many empty counter seats, there were none available for me to sit at. The waitress said something about 6:30, but I couldn’t work out if I should come back at 6:30 for a table seat or I could sit at a table seat until 6:30. While trying to ask for clarification I think she thought I said I was leaving now and for all I know maybe I did ! Tried to clarify further, but given it was a busy Saturday and the language barrier seemed impossible to break through, I did then decide to leave. Disappointing end to my last day in Isawaonsen. 調べたら 地元に愛される　人気店らしいので 行って来ました。

入ったら カウンターに男性店員さんが ４人も居たのでびっくりしました。 男性だけなのも　びっくりしました。 奥の厨房にも 何人か居るようで はじめは 多くないか？と思いましたが それぞれが　それぞれに プロ意識の高い仕事ぶりや 接客で　素晴らしかった。

お客様との会話も 心があり　温かかった。

お客様は 噂通りに 常連さんだらけ　（笑） 物凄い量のキープのお酒！！！ これだけで わかりますよね。 凄いなぁと思いました。

しかも 常連さんからは 店員さんに　差し入れがあったり 心遣いが渡されたり。 心遣いですぐに缶コーヒーを買い それをきちんとお客様にお見せして お礼を言うという その行動が　ちょっとしたことでは ありますが 凄く大きなことで お客様に愛される理由だと とてもわかりました。

いっけんチャラチャラしてそうな 店員さんですが 見てないようで お客様をよく見ているので レベルの高いお店だなぁと思いました。

店員さん同士も とてもいい関係に見えましたので 見ていて気持ちが良かったです。

お料理はもちろん 割烹を名乗るだけあり とっても (๑´ڡ`๑)美味しかった♡です。
