the worst experience I ever had in all my years of travel experience.
The hotel stays in one of the five lakes surrounded by the Mont Fuji. Although they advertise good pictures and try to catch people by the “half board”, it is a completely mistake get into there.
The region itself is not that popular, which may be attractive for some people, specially who is into nature, so for me makes sense they try to attract people there; the thing is the hotel is huge, but seems a bit abandoned - although the front design is nice.
1- they staff does not speak English and seems confused; we dial the reception and someone pick the phone up and while asking in English someone replied “No English”. This is a criticism for the hotel, not the staff as I believe the hiring should have happened considering the international attraction, and not only my local visitors.
2 - the hotel stinks mould and something else indescribable, they probably NEVER opened the windows in years; We opened ourselves and got better, but it is still there. The hallway and other common areas are a disaster.
3 - there are dust everywhere, I could see by simply move my luggage on the floor; there is also spider nets, old spilled coffee on walls;
4 - the food was the worst in my life: cold, clearly old, with a doubtful quality;
It seems they are mainly receiving group tourists. We were so astonished that we researched about the owner and found that the hotel was bought in 2014 by a...

Got extra blankets and a shoulder shrug. ||Cleaning|I had incredible dust allergy in the room. Could barely breath. That’s doesn’t usually happen unless there’s heaps of dust. Very disturbing. ||Hotel |Overall very run down. As if someone had a great idea and then didn’t finish and/or didn’t maintain. Run down tennis courts. ||View of my Fuji|Can’t really see it. You can from dining room and that is it. Not from lake or anywhere else. So don’t be mislead. ||Location|It’s lovely and quiet. Depends what you want. 20 min from town. Shuttle busses and tourist busses. Just be mindful of time and get day passes or it sums up days. Hotel shuttle to station is free. ||Shuttle bus|Make sure each day the ask when they leave/return. Time changes without warning and if you miss it you have no way back past 6pm. Driver was very nice.||Food|Was OK. Typical buffet. Not issues.||Staff |Friendly but barely speaks English. This is he eternally the case, so get...
Read moreLast-minute trip so couldn't get Japanese dinner, all-you-can-eat Crab, sounds good, but the dining hall reeked of crab. Halal Foods for some customers, but so many empty serving spaces, not many choices. Had to ask for vinegar as the Japanese eat crab that way. Only had cold melted butter...Goofed-up our drinks selections, new waitress definitely needs more Japanese vocabulary before employment. Manager made OK. ||Rooms (beds) very plain but clean. No View. Nothing special.||Onsen was nice and hot, but no view. Next morning I realized the humongous lump of clay/paper mache was supposed to be a Mt. Fuji mock-up. ||||But breakfast really grossed me out, we enter the dining hall and there were 30 plates of individually fried sunny-side up eggs (eyes) staring at us. Cold. ||The cook & staff were chatting and I couldn't get their attention to request an omelet. ||||At least, Mt. Fuji could be seen from the dining hall.||||The grounds were nice for a picnic and the lake was quiet and serene. Stay only if you get a...
