湖仙荘 (Kosenso) is a delightful restaurant situated near the serene Motosu Lake, and my dining experience here left a lasting impression, particularly with their exceptional soba dishes.

The highlight of Kosenso is undoubtedly their soba, a traditional Japanese buckwheat noodle dish. The soba served here is not only delicious but also reflects the commitment to quality and authenticity. The noodles are expertly prepared, with a perfect balance of texture and flavor. Whether you prefer them hot or cold, the soba dishes at Kosenso are a testament to the culinary craftsmanship of the chefs.

The restaurant's location near Motosu Lake adds to the overall charm of the dining experience. The tranquil surroundings and serene lake views provide a peaceful backdrop for your meal. It's a place where you can savor your food while connecting with the natural beauty of the area.

The staff at Kosenso are friendly and attentive, ensuring that diners have a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Their warm hospitality enhances the overall dining ambiance.

In conclusion, 湖仙荘 (Kosenso) is a hidden gem for soba lovers and those seeking a memorable dining experience near Motosu Lake. The exceptional soba, coupled with the serene surroundings and friendly service, make it a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the beautiful landscapes of the region. Whether you're a soba enthusiast or simply looking for a delicious meal in a tranquil setting, Kosenso is sure to leave...

This is one of those nice little stops when driving around the Fuji 5 Lakes area.

We drove up to the fifth station, and came down to get lunch here nearby. Fortunately, the other place was closed and we went here. The mother who works here is the sweetest lady ever and is very friendly.

The food? Better than you would expect for the place. I got the venison curry. The curry itself was good. Spicier than your typical Japanese curry. But the venison? This is the first place I've eaten here in Japan, where they say it's venison, and you can actually tell it's venison. SO GOOD! The venison croquette were good as well, but if you want something different? The venison curry is it!

My wife and other son got soba, and that looked very good. They had no complaints about it. They have smelt on the menu, and I would go back just to try that.

They are foreigner friendly with english menus.

Downstairs there is ice cream, and a nice little tourist shop.

I will come back here. If not for the smelt,...

Before leaving lake Motosuko we were at the bus stop after the whole village was closing down. The owners of this fine restaurant, which was already closed for the evening noticed us waiting at the bus stop right in front of their building and were kind enough to invite us in out of the dark and the cold before the last bus arrived at approximately 6:30 back to Fujinomiya. The owners are very caring and hospitable people. They turned on the space heater for us and brought us hot tea and a plate of cookies. They treat us like family. Just want to acknowledge their generosity and kindness in case anyone is heading that way, you will not be disappointed. People like this are very rare in this day and age. God is good 🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️

Little gem discovery - we were camping at Kouan campsite on a rainy day, and walked there for lunch as our car rooftent was all set up and we didn't want to lose our spot. Bit of a walk, we got there pretty drenched - the woman immediately helped us dry our gear by the heater, have us towels etc. Amazing food that warned us up (and for a very decent price). Everything we tried was great (we ended up coming back the following day for more), on a clear day you get amazing views of Fuji through the end window. Plus side, the shop downstairs had souvenirs, snacks and sake to keep us warm on our second camping night 🙃 A big thank you and we absolutely recommend stopping by!

We came here a bit later in the day and was warmly greeted. The food was very tasty (and included vegetarian friendly options). It was good portion size and well presented. Great value!!! There was an English menu which made things easier. The view of the lake from the 2nd floor was breathtaking, and added to the pleasant atmosphere. While I don’t speak Japanese and the lady who servers us didn’t speak English, it was very clear how kind she was and the generosity she showed us further added to our wonderful experience here. We will definitely come back here if we’re in Japan. Thank you for making this lunch so memorable.
