The reviews for this place was bad but I didn't read it before we went so I didn't have any prejudice about the place and I didn't feel like they we're rude to us ever though we were clearly foreigners. The old man even went outside to greet us and lead us inside. I asked the old lady if we can sit outside and she said "feel free to do so.." in a nice way.

Please give this place a try because the food was tasty. We ordered flattened noodles with veggies called Hōtō (ほうとう), a Yamanashi local dish. We also tried their noodles with wild veggies and I liked it. I also ordered Kombucha (tea) and it came with Warabi-mochi...

Was really hungry after getting off the train and found this place first. There was only two other groups dining so the service was quick. I had the katsu curry and it was a big portion for 1500 yen! It includes a side salad. My fiancée got noodles and the broth was simple and good. Honestly, it was good enough for what we were looking for. Simple...

Had the local hoto noodle dish and it had ACTUAL vegetables! Mushrooms, beans, carrot, pumpkin and large tofu bits. Serving was HUGE. 1500 yen for Hoto dish with rice and pickle sides. Very reasonable Ramen serving had a rich broth - 750 yen.

It was raining outside so sadly didn’t get a view of Lake Motosu but I imagine it would be nice...

本栖館 富士五湖最西端の本栖湖畔の高台にある観光物産館。 本栖湖側の屋外テラスや喫茶店で食事も出来る。 訪れた、2021-02月下旬は、コロナ禍で客足が減少しているからか？そもそも使われていないのか？は不明だが、店の入口付近のファストフード販売小屋は開いていなかった。 日曜日の午前中に訪れたが、店内は他のお客は１、２人程度。 やはり緊急事態宣言による外出自粛の影響はかなりある感じでした。 オリンピックのキャラクターグッズや、如何にも「山梨」「富士山観光」といった土産物が並び、ここが国内外のお客をターゲットにした観光地であることを窺わせる。 コロナ禍でなければ、インバウンド客やシニア、家族連れ等、多数の観光客でごった返していたものと思われる。 個々の土産物については、山梨銘菓の信玄餅(巾着袋の色が赤・青で選べる。中身は同じ。)をはじめとして、富士山柄がプリントされたクッキー(500円)、富士山の溶岩をイメージした色鮮やかな砂糖菓子(珈琲用角砂糖として使うと良い)、甲州ワインや富士の裾野の地酒、各種キーホルダーや置物など、色々あります。 向かいには同じく土産物屋の『湖仙荘』があり、駐車場は共用です。 こちらでは、駐車場の一角に置かれている自転車をレンタル出来るようです。 時間がある方は、双方の土産物屋に入ってみるのも良いかもしれません。
