Upon arrival:
Reserved their most basic room. Tiny space so if you’re staying more than a night, don’t bring huge luggage; it won’t fit in this kind of room. The keys are old fashioned physical keys and not key cards. Nevertheless, this room is clean and the bed comfortable. There is a small protruding shelf right beside the bed where you can out your phone when you go to sleep, so be careful you don’t hit it.
This is a super short walk from the JR Gifu Station (less than five minutes) and is right across the Meitetsu Gifu station.
The elevator is around the back where the parking is, so you don’t have to worry about hailing your luggage up the stairs to get to the lobby from the street. There are instructions by the stairs to get to the elevator.
Next day:
Walls are THIN!!!!! I could hear the person next door moving and they could probably hear me too
Bathroom faucets are old fashioned. Have to turn knobs for both hot and cold to adjust the...

This is because there is actually no connecting corridor from the overhead concourse bridges at the station to the hotel. That said, the rooms are clean and the huge TV was a welcome surprise!! The hotel's prime location also means that you don't have to walk far to find delicious food. There are so many izakayas and restaurants within a 5-minutes walking radius of the hotel to choose from!! I would recommend you check out this Yakitori place called 浜やま屋 (Hama-yama-ya).
My only gripe was that the rooms are pretty small - which is a common refrain you will hear about Japanese hotels. At the Il Credo, your bed fits exactly across the width of the room, so there's no "landing space" in front of your bed, so you definitely have to get off from only one...
Read moreVery convenient location - close to bus stations to the Gifu Castle. Almost next to the JR/Meitetsu stations and supermarket. Not many choices in terms of food down the main road so would recommend going over to JR station/Asty for meals. ||||Very friendly staff. Twin room size was great. But I think it's a renovated hotel from another brand as the bathroom seems to be from the previous management so it's pretty old.Have to go to the back for elevator to go to the lobby but it's not too much of a hassle. (The main entrance only has stairs to go up to lobby.) Mattress was comfortable and even though we have a room facing the main road, we couldn't hear any traffic so we had a great night's sleep.||||Breakfast is so-so though it was still a great variety of choice.||||Got a last minute extra 10% off deal from the hotel website I've booked so I think it was really...
