Gifu Washington Hotel Plaza — Hotel in Gifu

This hotel is near the station(It is on the right of the station). Stayed in room 707, corner room with twin bed. Wifi was great. You have to get the lan line from the reception. There is a nice simple eating place just on the right side of the hotel which is run by an old couple. There is a ramen noodle shop across the shop. The neared place for a nice Hida Beef is at Takumi which is at the Gifu City Tower 43. (2nd floor). Take a bus opposite the hotel(bus stop no 4) for buses to Nagara River Ukai Museum and the quaint streets around the area. The hotel is located very near to the station, 10 minute walk. Hotel is really good, has a nice restaurant also. Laundry facility is also there. Staff is very helpful even though their English is a bit of a problem. Rooms are very good. There is a TV also even though all the channels are in Japanese :P. If you stay in Gifu then this is the best place to stay. This place is not that cheap as compared to dormitories as here you get a single room and also that Gifu is a small town. Nagoya which is nearby is better option to stay in this region and places there are cheaper also. Train connectivity is very good and its better to stay in Nagoya and come to Gifu for your work. Stayed here for two nights with my family; we booked a non-smoking room. It's is a little bit small compared to other hotels we stayed in. Nonetheless, it's clean.

The lady at the front desk was friendly and accommodating. She speaks English, which is a plus.

Another good thing about this hotel is the location. It's walking distance to Gifu JR Station and Meitetsu-Gifu Station. The Kinpocho bus station is just a minute walk from...
